OT: Dirty Suggs

rewatching it the ravens are pushing blount back and about to tackle him.

definitely a dirty play by a player known for dirty plays.

It looks horrendous in real time and in slow motion. If Gronk doesnt pick up his right leg off the turf its over.

I was talking about the Suggs hit. I just went on to use Gronk last night as an example/

Be fed up all you want. It's a different day and age now. The league wants to see passing and points- not helmet hits on knees by irrelevant defensive backs.

Players go down every season from low hits and whining fans complain every season. Why has nothing been done about it? It has no relevance to the points being scored. The league understands the importance of going low on larger players.

Then they are being coached improperly and with intent to injure.

You can walk in to a HCs office...all the way from HS to the NFL...or a defensive meeting, say that, and be laughed out of the room.

It is a widely acceptable technique taught by defensive coaches and offensive coaches prepare their players to avoid such contact where possible. I can guarantee you a defensive coach on our beloved Patriots will, at some point, have told a player to take the legs out rather than allow him to drag you for extra yardage. It is how it has always been.

I was taught it in the UK by my American coach and I have sat in on High School practices in the U.S. where it has been taught. I coach with former NFL players. They will tell you exactly what I am telling you right now

Two totally different situations.

Marquee players are part of the game and the league is acutely aware of it. See The Brady Rule.

You are out of touch. So much that the league put a rule in place about leading with the helmet. Go back and read BB's comments and his reaction to the hit...he wasn't happy one bit.

I seriously doubt any coach with credibility endorses an illegal hit on a player's knees. Check out BBs reaction to TJ Ward's play on Gronk last year and commentary afterwards. He is not a coach who promotes that kind of hit.

Then you were taught and are coaching with bad coaches with zero disregard for player safety, NFL rules and consideration for the other player's career.
