Apparently, not only does Chris Harris of the Broncos think the Broncos will have a higher seed than the Pats, but he thinks they will come to Denver and lose:

FOXBORO — It wasn’€™t even an hour after Denver’€™s 43-21 blowout loss to New England and Broncoscornerback Chris Harris Jr. was already looking ahead to the next potential meeting with the Patriots.

“€œWhen they come to Denver, it’€™s going to be a different game,” Harris said. “€Plain and simple.”€

Granted he did back track later:

“I mean if we get home field advantage, we’€™ll probably see them again,” added Harris.

Why would it be a different game if the two teams were to meet in Denver?

“Look at the playoffs last year. It was different last year,” Harris said. “We’€™ll see them again. We have to try and get the home field advantage. This game always comes down to it, but they got the lead on us so we have to win out.”

But I think that is the mindset of the Broncos players. They still think that HFA is a given for the Broncos and they will beat the Patriots in Denver in the AFCCG. Shouldn't be talking after you got blown out either way.

he did give a nice quote about how good brady is too:
“It was just Tom Brady, man,” he said. “He just turns it up another level. Plain and simple he played better than us. He made the plays. He’€™s Tom Brady.”

that said, i agree with your sentiment

Brady threw some passes into ridiculous windows today...I mean foot square windows. ....and...AND...the wind was ridiculous. How he pinpointed those throws is WHY he is the best QB in the league today.

I gotta tell ya, if that's the best bulletin board material we'll get for a theoretical playoff rematch, BB might as well open the bulletin board up that week for people trying selling their car, find a roommate or offering guitar lessons.

It is an hour after the game on week 9. I am sure there will be plenty of bulletin board material. I just think it is a stupid comment to make after you gotten beaten by a team by three TDs.

@Chiefs, vs Bills, @ Chargers, @ Bengals

3 out of 4 of those games are really tough games on the road.

Don't judge SD on the MIA game. Flying across the country in that muggy, humid swamp.

@ Arrowhead is always tough and the Chiefs may be in a must win situation

@ Cincinnati is tough and it could be a cold, windy day like today in Foxboro. Like KC, CIN may be in a must win situation.

LOL

What a moron

Agreed. Stupid comments definitely are to be expected right after the game. Sometimes we are lucky enough to get some good ones. This, IMHO, wasn't all that good (stupid? yes. Good Bulletin board material? not feeling that).

Of course I have been spoiled by Rex and his '5th grade reading level' players. They set the bar so high for bulletin board material it probably has skewed my standards/expectations......

Yeah I was just looking at their schedule. Everybody was talking about how easy it was so I had to see for myself. The next couple of games should be cupcake wins but they definitely have a few loseable games left. I could see the broncos realistically finishing the year 12-4, 13-3 at best.

All things considered I'd rather have the Broncos' 2 near layups against Oakland schedule than our schedule. But, as you mentioned, theirs certainly isn't a cakewalk. At Cincy, at SD, at KC.....that ain't easy!
(plus noting in general that change for the better/worse in Nov and Dec usually happens regarding the strength of the opponents).

Unfortunately we have to expect the Broncos to run the table. Put another way, like it or not they are very capable of running the table. Given that, the Patriots should also expect to run the table (fortunately we are also, in fact, capable of running the table). My hunch is another loss for the Broncos is probable and can nearly be counted on. Given how tough our schedule is, the Broncos providing that one game margin of error would be comforting as the race for the top seed pulls into the home stretch.

As you describe, there's an easy way to deal with this.

Today was the first day I saw a Super Bowl caliber defense in New England in years.

Good observation. I think we've had some stretches of good defensive play but not like we saw last night. Solid run D, solid secondary play, some decent short-middle of the field coverage, even a level of effective blitzing (I can't remember the last time I saw the pass rush actually hurry/harass Manning more than just once or twice). IF this is what this D is capable of (and barring injury I expect it to gel further), this definitely is a "SB caliber D".
I tell you what Aus, couple that with the other IF: if the OL continues to play well/improve/gel (IMHO a reasonable expectation to be met), I like our SB chances more than at any point since 07.

Brady is en fuego right now. I saw mention of MVP somewhere. He keeps this up and he has earned it.

Consider how very good the opponent faced, then consider TB's very good performance, then consider the very difficult wind, then consider that TB baaaaaaarely missed on two long and difficult throws for likely TDs. Even the misses were a credit to his performance (and if those two are completed, his performance would have gone from tops to straight up 'this was against the Broncos! are you kidding me?').

If TB(and cast) keeps this up and the defense keeps this up? Hard to see how virtually all Sundays(or game days) shouldn't remain very satisfying well into 2015.

The 8000 pound rhinolephant in the room is the Gronk. And TJ Ward is a pure scumbag loser POS. Period. Just stay positive that Gronk stays healthy for the playoffs. The Pats have a puncher's chance against anybody anywhere if he does.

I can't believe that punk went straight at Gronks knees again on his first catch! Scumbag.

One thing I hate about the NFL is that dirty DBs are hard to get shots at.

It was a legal hit. As a DB what are you going to do? Go high and bounce off of him and risk getting a helmet to helmet penalty? Wrap him up at the waist and get taken for a 7 yard piggy back ride before someone else helps complete the tackle?

No, you go low. It was almost identical to the location that Ayers hit Manning.

They are indeed. And yet...I'm going to make a prediction that NO team in the NFL runs the table from this point. It just doesn't feel like that kind of season.

What an idiot.

You're an NFL player.. YOU NEED HAVE CONFIDENCE IN WINNING YOUR DAN GAMES NO MATTER WHERE YOU PLAY.

This whole "we'd do so much better with home field advantage" thing he's implying is a losers mentality.

I agree with it being the same as Ayers hit and to be honest I didn't like that either. I liked the outcome as it was huge for the Pats but I think it should have been flagged.

Ward intentionally went for the knees at speed, he could have went for the thighs easily which would have been as effective in bringing him down.
