Denver vs NE post game thread

It was a great game. We made a statement and let the rest of league know that the Pats are not going to lay down for anyone. I wasn't too concerned about our limited run game seeings Denver is number 1 in run D. People on this board complain about dropped passes and such. They need to realize that you aren't going to have a perfect games and that there are going to be miscues. Lets savor this win and realize we took down what was the #1 team in the afc in brutal fashion.

How about are own homegrown "experts". Perillo is the Lone Ranger (He's was OK in my book even before)

Hart, Scalavino, Gueregian, Manza Young, Capello and Reiss all showed no faith.

Next question is how mediots like Felger and Mazz will spin how the Patriots possibly won this game?

Does anybody know Tim Wright's snap count?

A few thoughts...

- Stork is an NFL caliber center. Period. Great pick.

- Watching Edelman (dropped TD) and Amendola (big first down) destroying Talib in man coverage was pretty sweet. Talib has been lights out this year, but the weather's getting colder and his hips might be starting to stiffen a bit. He wasn't good today.

- People on this board ragging on Jamie Collins really need to shut up now. He was all over the field today - including in Manning's face. I laugh every time someone says "he's not an NFL caliber linebacker." Umm, yeah, he most certainly is, and he's only in his second year. 10 solo tackles today, too.

- Akeem Ayers is a keeper. Can't teach speed and he's got it. - big time. Good to see Casillas shine on special teams. Did Branch get any snaps?

- Easley played well today. Looked quicker off the snap. Maybe he's getting those repaired legs back under him.

- Revis is worth every penny. Browner is worth much more than the pennies he's getting.

- Denver hasn't had many injuries this year, but they're starting to get dinged up. Welker might be done for a bit, and both Thomas and Sanders got clocked good today.

- Denver is 1-2 on the road, 5-0 at home. They're still going to KC, to San Diego, and to Cincinnati. We've got a legitimate shot for HFA.

- The Broncos are a really good football team, but people are overrating them. They won FIVE games at home. Mile-high, or whatever it's called, and that thin air is a HUGE advantage. The Colts almost beat them; KC almost beat them; and they beat a wounded Arizona team, a not-good San Francisco team and a San Diego team that is declining fast - all in Denver.

- I want to see Denver beat a good team on the road before I anoint them, thank you very much.

Now if someone posts the gif of the Ayers sack too, I'll be in heaven.

"Cinci line is scary"
"Buffalo line is very scary"
"Jests line could be the best in the league"
"Chicago's pass rush could cause some problems"
"Denver's line is the very best in the league"

Newsflash: This isn't the O-line that started the first 4 games.

Stork delivers

I agree with parts of your post and disagree with others. I thought since you put so much effort in i'd give you a detailed response.

Stork - Yep. Still needs to clean up things but should only get better come january let alone year 2

Talib - Yep. I still think he will be hurt at some point this year. Either way this Broncos D is not as good as they are made out to be especailly when not up 2 scores.

Collins - This was his best game of the year so far. However his play has been bad/average most of the year. He is still young and needs to learn to be consistent. I think he will get there. He has shown he has all the tools you could want. Just need to be more consistent. The people harping on him early have a case and still do until he strings good games together.

Ayers - Solid depth guy looks like. As a 3rd best LB he is okay. I'd love him as a 4th.

Easley - has improved his play the last 3 games particularly. He is on the right track. Wanna see him back at DT full time when Jones is back and see how much he has improved from there.

Revis - Yep. Nuff said

Browner - The last 3 games he has looked better each time. Guy is a difference maker out there. I know people call him a "matchup CB" and he is... but what team does not have a big target these days? He will always have a place on the field and this game looked like a borderline probowler.

Denver Injuries - We will see. Irving to me looks done for the year. Just a guess. Seemed bad. We will see but i expect it will even out some.

Denver HFA - Yep a lot of away games. Pats still have a harder schedule but all those away games will give Denver chances to slip up too. It is always hard to win on the road no matter who you play. I am curious to see Denver against KC, SD & Cin especailly. All will be tough.

Even though we don't 100% agree I found your post a good read.

I was wrong on the "predict the score" thread. In fact I almost had it backwards. Please send me a crow sandwich. :D

Squeaky macaroni will continue to play the tough guy anti homer rebel. The problem is most of the people that call that show know about as little as squeaky when it comes to football so he is never accountable for his know nothing mindset. I guarentee you squeaky is counting the days until the equipment truck pulls up in front of Fenway.

Key difference Last year vs this year is that we needed to be perfect after the Denver game becasues we had 3 losses and they had 2. This year It seems as if We could lose a game at some point and likely get home field. I see Denver dropping at least one of those road games

Revs even said after the game tonight he is their energizer bunny (browner). So glad we have these two and we NEED to lock up revis this offseason...a must IMO

He must love this winning stuff :D

BB and Patricia were testing their players for the first few games, almost like pre-season. That's my take anyway. So many seemed out of position, and Collins was one of them. He's not going to take on a guard and tackle and get to a running back.

He is, though, a great blitzer, and a great tackler for those backs coming out on the short routes. He's not Navarro Bowman, but he's only going to get better.

You're right, though, on the consistency - I think he'll get there faster rather than later.

Should I read further or was today another surrender monkey bawkfest in here?
