Penny wise and Pound foolish.

If I were Romo, I'd say "Pound Sand" !!!!
Playing with a broken back is insane.

I know nothing about that. Sounds serious.. Can it lead to more serious things when hit wrong?

I can hear that old Phil Collins song, "I Don't Care Anymore"...the closing refrain..

Nomo....nomo...nomo...nomo..

I believe the tranverse process attach to muscles which help prevent the back and spinal cord from seperating.

That would mean Total Paralysis if they did.

Then why risk playing? Sounds crazy

say what you want about Romo, but he is one tough SOB.

You would be surprised how tough someone can appear after the part of their body that is hurt gets completely numbed up with a shot.

what are they gonna do NOW, numb his brain? Gotta be nuts to go on an NFL field with a broken back. If anyone can order it though, Jerruh is your man.

Very similar to the injury Bryce Petty had, which only cost him 1 game.

I agree with the OP. With Jacksonville on tap next week, and then the BYE, may as well rest up and have a very decent shot at 7-3 going into your bye week.

I also agree with the opinion that Romo (like Brady) is tougher than people give him credit for, and that it takes a lot to keep guys like that out of the lineup.

At the same time, we've seen examples of the opposite end of the spectrum from guys who miss all the time.

When you're playing through broken ribs, broken fingers, a punctured lung, etc--you prove that you're going to do whatever it takes to try and play. In 2010, he even tried to go back in with a broken collarbone but the staff wouldn't let him.

I'm a Romo fan. Hope he recovers quickly. Would love a New England v Dallas Superbowl.

I always hated the Cowgirls in the 90's when everyone everywhere had a stupid Cowboy hat with a stupid Cowboy starter jacket. Now, after all the hate Romo has gotten from the media for seasons that weren't his fault, I'm a passive fan.

My wife broke eight, four on each side. Doctors didn't do anything except wrap her midriff to help stabilize everything. No issues at all for day to day activities. Of course she wasn't getting hit by 300 lb linemen.

Gotta wonder how effective he can be if he starts to hear them "footsteps"...

If he wants "Another Day in Paradise", or perhaps "He doesn't care any more" he can go "Against all Odds" and be "Taken Home".. and be an "Easy Lover".

Seems contratdictory to the "no structural damage" statement I thought I heard; and they took x-rays during the game.

I do wonder if Romo would play in a full body cast rather than them letting Weedon lose in a game

Weedon was actually winning the Washington game for them, and until Romo came back in and blew it (although not his fault considering how much pain he was in).

That Jerry Jones is as complete an idiot as one could possibly be.
