Awesome read.

GRONK is a special player. Takes a lot to go through this.

Two of his brothers have already had career-ending injuries.

I didn't like that part. :(

Nice read. Thanks.

Field Yates lists Gronk at #2 (behind JJ Watt) in his list of top 10 NFL matchup nightmares:

2. Rob Gronkowski, TE, New England Patriots

Said one NFL defensive coach: "Gronk, when healthy, is the best offensive weapon in football."

At 6-foot-6 and close to 275 pounds, Gronk's build is closer to the conventional frame of an offensive tackle than an NFL tight end, but he has terrific movement skills for a player of his size. When I worked for the Kansas City Chiefs' personnel department, we had Gronk in for a pre-draft visit and the size of his hand -- 10¾ inches -- stood out to those who shook it. He snatches the football like it is a fly and would-be tacklers deflect off Gronkowski in space. A forearm injury in the 2012 season has affected his blocking, but in recent weeks Gronkowski has rounded into form. At his best, he's dominant as a run-blocker and arguably the best red zone weapon in the league.

Stat to prove it: Gronkowski has six catches on red zone plays this season -- all six have turned into touchdowns.

Glad to see Gronk re-establishing himself as one of the truly elite players in the game.

Any game that Gronk comes out in one piece is a one for this team. I honestly think we have at least a super bowl or two if Gronk had stayed healthy for the entirety of the playoffs. Such a bummer.

Career ending depends a lot on what type of career you were headed for. We had Dan, for instance. He was marginal when healthy. If he was as talented as Rob, he most likely wouldn't retire.

As someone already said his brothers were marginal players. Injured or not they likely wouldnt still be in the NFL.

on a side note - i was intrigued by the beginning paragraph about Glenn Gronkowski...

"The day before, his youngest son, Glenn, had caught four passes for 92 yards and a touchdown in Kansas State's 23-0 throttling of Texas ."

hmmmm...

Is it me or are we just waiting to see the career-ending injury happen live on TV? Every time he touches the ball I get both excited and scared.

I love how people are worried about what Gronk is going to think when he sees TJ Ward. The real question is what TJ Ward is going to be thinking when he sees Gronk coming at him.

This. Gronk will pick Ward up by the ankles and shake him upside down for spare change.

"No tight end in the NFL has caught more touchdown passes than Gronkowski since 2010. Think about how remarkable that is considering he's missed 14 games the past two seasons."

Wow......

Shows just how much of a difference he plays

Best non QB player in football.
Would have loved to see him and Randy Moss together.

We always have a shot with Gronk, he is easily the best TE in football when healthy. There is literally nothing you can do to stop Gronk, all you can do is limit him. We just need to keep our fingers crossed, I cringe every time I see him catch a pass and take a hit.

Gronk is one cool cat.
