Week 9 Thursday Night Football: New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers

Seriously. Back in New Zealand we played ball when we lived in

Nice to see @pherein back here again.

Would love to see your thoughts on Sunday's game if you get the time.

Looking at the final stats, the areas that Carolina needed to win were about even:

Turnovers: Saints 2, Panthers 2
Rushing Yards: Panthers 109, Saints 105
Sacks/Yards Lost: Saints 4/27, Panthers 4/29
Third Down: Saints 7/13, Panthers 6/14

On the other hand, New Orleans dominated in other areas as expected:

Passing Yards: Saints 270, Panthers 122
Yards per Pass: Saints 7.1, Panthers 3.8
Red Zone: Saints 4/5, Panthers 1/2

That all led to New Orleans being able to run 20 more plays than Carolina, and hold on to the ball for ten more minutes than the Panthers:

Total Plays: Saints 75, Panthers 55
Time of possession: Saints 34:53, Panthers 24:42

Cam has a really nice blastoff rocket arm close to the goal line...he just needs someone taller than the 6'6" Benjamin to go up and grab them 15 foot off the grounders he fires off.

BTW, I grew up in the same town as Micheal Hoomanawanui

The game was on ESPN 8, or the "Ocho" as it's commonly referred to. :D

Lol, they got that many ESPN channels?

The Saints won on the road, what a miracle.

Thanks , nice to see you guys again.

I think to a certain extent both teams have built their lineup to beat the other. BB seems builds his team to beat the best in the AFC every year, like adding Revis to combat PM. Tom looks a lot better in the last few games. PM always looks good, because he usually has great WR's, until he chokes.

I think you can define why he chokes though, Its because if you make PM one dimensional, he can't handle it. Kill his short or long game and he cant cope with it, I believe.
While Tom can adapt, and play well if you take out any part of the game.

Wind is going to limit PM game today , so I don't see him having a successful playing only the short game all day, he going to get some interceptions.

If NE can get a run game going in the 2nd half , keep to short passes with Edelman, Gronk, with screens to Vereen. Using Bolden to power Denver's weak right side off tackle. It could be a runaway game with PM getting frustrated .

I believe Patriots are a better all around team , even though Denver has some amazingly talented pieces.

yeah with only 2 turnovers, lol, good team would have whopped us. Though defense did an amazing job.
