Casillas: "I've never seen anything like this defense before..."

What's more interesting is that Casillas implies that he will be playing inside at times, including possibly this week at Denver:

That could be quite interesting, as it would free up one of Collins or Hightower to move outside where they are more suited.

Richard Hill has suggested that Casillas could play a Roman Phifer-like inside role in base, and a WLB role in sub:

That's what I hoped when we added Ayers and Casillas. That it frees up our ability to move Collins, but especially move Hightower around. Because Hightower has been a real beast when playing on the edge this season.

This defense is fun to watch this year. Lots of stuff moving, blitzes, stunts, guys switching positions in play. I love it!

And forgive my extremely amateur X's and O's observation, but what I like about this idea most is that its being done in such a way that Manning isn't going to have any film on it.

I can see Patricia dressed like Ramsay Snow ushering two prostitutes into the locker room as the food service crew grills a sausage.

I read it as the Pats defensive style and structure is unfamiliar to him, NOT that our defense is a world-beater. Didn't mean to infer anything from quoting the title of the Masslive piece... my bad if I did.

I'll forgive you for inferring but I'll never forgive you for implying.

My first thought was that he was not able to comprehend the play book.

He's been here two days or less. I'd b more worried if he said it was a snap. I believe Doug Gabriel had the play book down right away, then kept losing it as he went along.

I took it as inside in sub packages.
I think he will be playing a nickel LB role that we tried some big safeties in ( tank Williams experiment)
I don't see much more than that.
And yes that could free up HT to play sub DE.
I expect we see things on D this week we haven't seen before. That's whether Casillas even sees the field or not.
