I love reading AWTE's breakdowns. Thanks.

Why doesn't he take his talents to PatsFans? Those are the most in depth breakdowns on the internet, as it relates to Patriots football.

No idea. I tried to get him to do some breakdowns on the Pats podcasts that were being done a few years ago (Jay was a regular commentator), and he was very reluctant. I don't know him personally, but he came across as someone who does the work because he loves doing breakdowns, but not for the recognition. Great stuff.

So he's a sick puppy, then? ;)

AWTE really knows his stuff and does a great job breaking down plays. He's certainly welcome to post here as well as the Planet. There is no rivalry between the two sites, just in some peoples mind:D.

jesus.........

that guy a former pats player or something?

HS football coach, IIRC, but he really knows his stuff. Could probably do well at the collegiate level.

Not sure where to put Bill's breakdown, but figured it fit in with this type of film review.

What strikes me is something Bill didn't even touch on. On the defensive play at the 3:00 mark, once Logan Ryan blitzes, his man is completely wide open running down the field. It isn't like there's someone behind Ryan to pick him up either, because the safety is taking the TE crossing across the field and the CB has his own man (and has outside leverage, putting him further away from the open man.

A quick pass there and it is an easy 20 yard gain, maybe even 30 with a missed tackle. I doubt Manning will miss something that obvious.

Bumping up, just cuz.

Surprised there is not more discussion on this.

Wonder if it would help if we put together a glossary of the terms being used here to make things more comprehensible?

Agree. But I wonder if this blitz was designed based on something they saw on tape in how Cutler goes through his reads under pressure. The one thing that we all need to keep in mind is that we are a gameplan team. I would be surprised if we use that against Manning.

Agreed, but it does illustrate how close the line is between success and failure, as well as how little can really be carried from one match up to the next.
