The forecast is for cold weather in Boston this Sunday (well, cold for me anyway). We've brought thermal underwear, hats, gloves and windproof jackets. I'm wondering if we are allowed to take Zippo hand warmers into Gillette Stadium? I'm thinking security might have an issue with them since they contain lighter fluid. If we are allowed to take them, does anyone know where I can buy them in Boston?

Yes, you can take them into the stadium. You can get them (or other kinds of hand warmers) at pretty much any sporting goods store plus places like Wal-Mart and Home Depot. I like the ones with fuel sticks.

But, are you from the South or something? It's not going to be THAT frigid. Gloves, coat, sweater and knit hat should do you fine.

You're looking at cold and rain. My cold/rain setup for the Razor:

1. Under Armour cold gear compression pants and shirt
2. Under Armour sweat pants
3. Moisture wicking t-shirt or long-sleeve shirt
4. Nice, thick hooded sweatshirt
5. Pats rain jacket
6. Rain pants (optional, but if it's going to be a soaking rain, I would bring them)
7. Under Armour cold gear gloves
8. Pats beanie
9. Tac boots (poly socks layered with wool socks)
10. Nuts...you're just going to have to sack up and accept that it'll be a little miserable, but it's worth it

There's no way to be truly warm as it gets into the evening, and if the game is out of hand, people will start to leave, and it'll get even colder. Just hang in there. Enjoy!

I'm from the south originally and the fall rain games were always the worst for me. I'd rather snow any day of the week.

I'm from Australia (a long way south!). It gets cold where I come from too, but I'm not used to sitting still in the cold for 3 hours. Thanks for the tips. Looking forward to the game.

One of this and you'll be fine

Where are your seats? If you're way up high in the 300's, it's a bit colder than down low. Also remember that you won't be sitting still the whole time and you'll be surrounded by a bunch of people yelling a lot. All that hot air around you usually helps. :)

Packable rain ponchos are good too, since cold and dry is much better than cold and wet.

The best hand warmers are the one-time chemical ones. They're available at all outdoor stores (Eastern Mountain Sports has several branches in the Boston area.)

The stadium is pretty exposed (particularly high up) but people get up and move around during the game.

We are in the mezzanine corner, section 238. It's a no alcohol zone, so that rules out the tequila. [emoji22]

I hope you aren't sitting the whole time.

OK. Say 'hi!' to the seagulls from me. (We were in 237 last Sunday.)

Get up!!!! Scream your lungs out every time the Moonhead has the ball. You'll soon forget the cold and wind. WE win by attrition. Welcome to Patriots Fans Live.

I have all of my under armor cold gear under my jackets and pants. Will be nice and warm for the game.

with 22 mph wind..you will need some time of jacket that is lined for the wind if possible.

Get ready to see some manning INTs with that wind!

Footwear is so critical for success, you can be dressed properly for every part of your body but you will suffer if your footwear is not proper, ie-no sneakers

Unfortunately it will be sneakers for us. We had to pack for Texas and Boston weather, so some compromises were made. Maybe we need to buy some warm boots?

Shoes you will prob be fine..just go out and get a good pair of socks. Some toe warmers will keep your feet very warm. It's not like it's going to be 20 out at game time. Wind chill maybe but won't feel that on things covered up

I went to the playoff game vs. the Ravens in January 2010...THAT was fuggin' cold, OK? This weekend is BALMY WEATHER for any New Englander by comparison.
