I don't think BB makes another move between now and the deadline.

12/14 people would not take a first round pick, martin, bryant, or murray for a rookie qb who has yet to show anything in a real game. insanity

If we can get Bryant or Murray? BB would be insane to turn down proven talents for an unknown like JG.

None of the above options are enough.

I believe in Garoppolo's ability to be a decent franchise QB. That is the hardest asset to come by. If i were going to move him it be for an all in push for the last years with Brady. I need multiple first or a true impact player for 3-4 years.

It is a lot to ask but it took 14 years since Brady came here to get someone this good to back him up. You like your odds in finding someone who project to be this good in the next 3-4 years? cause i don't.

GAP is the Patriots only backup QB. There's a huge risk/reward issue here.

Bryant's deal is up at the end of the year.

As for Murray, he's running behind a tremendous line and he's still putting the ball on the ground way too often, and we know how well that goes over with coach Bill Belichick.

I can definitely see why people would be against trading the team's only backup QB, especially for those two particular players.

He played well in KC limitedly and played well in Chicago limitedly as well as the preseason.

Also he just LOOKS right.

By your logic you should never draft a QB #1 overall cause he has not proven anything in a real nfl game. In fact every player who has any nfl experience is worth more than every draft pick.

I am not bashing on you I am just saying all we can do is try to assess his value by the limited information we have. Right now I'd say it looks pretty high. A lot of QBs were taken in front of him that look to be bust already. If you could trade Garoppolo and get a top 10 pick to use on a QB how comfortable would you feel that the guy you get would be better than him? I would not be so sure. I think i would stay with Garapollo from what i have seen.

Had to delete my last post, as I'd misread Bryant's contract. Bryant's deal is up after this season.
If it's up after this season then we'd be crazy not to make this trade then. He'd be the perfect 1 year rental.

He hasn't had a real chance to shine yet.

Rivers played the 2007 AFCCG on a torn ACL. We don't know that he's OK, just that he's a "warrior."

X-rays came back negative, and he said that he fully expects to play on Sunday.

After that they have a meaningless game vs. Jacksonville and then a BYE week, so the reality is that they have ONE real game in the next month or so even if he were hurt significantly--which it doesn't appear that he is.

Like Dallas would even remotely consider trading Dez Bryant or DeMarco Murray--LOL. They are the 2 of the top 3 players on the team.

Nope. JimmyG is our guy for the future and seems miles better than any other backup we've ever had.

Not a chance. Garoppolo has looked good so far, and has shown that he might become a good NFL QB. To me that is worth a lot, especially when our current QB is close to 40. I don't want us to be like the Bills/Jets/Dolphins that has been looking for a franchise QB for a long time.

You are the Insane one.

Only 55% of 2nd round picks, ever play. That is the average success rate for all teams for the past decade. But after a TC, you can tell who the keepers are, and Polo has already passed the test.

He appears to be a raw keeper, just like Brady appeared to be, as a TC rookie, and that caused Belichick to carry 4 QBs, a very, very, unusual situation.

He has already outplayed a couple of first rounders, so his value is already a First plus more. But the Pats will need a successor to Brady relatively soon, and QB candidates are hard to find.

Garopollo has thrown 10 passes in the NFL, completing 9.... so you mean to tell me that Dallas will trade Murray or Bryant??... do not want Bryant another head case.

"Used to be America's Team", would be absolute idiots to go for this trade...

I'm not saying I would, but I've seen the suggestion floated on Twitter.

So, assuming the Patriots could find a backup QB to replace Garoppolo, would you make that trade?
If it was for Zach Martin I would any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Other than that I'm not sure, I would probably do it for their 2015 first round pick as well. I'm not sure I would trade him for Bryant or Murray because essentially it is trading a second round pick and potential starting QB for them for only 8 games and the playoffs, so the value is not great unless you can agree to an extension.

Dallas trading any of those for a rookie day two pick who has yet to play a *meaningful* snap would be insanity. Or highway robbery on our part. Whichever of the two tickles your fancy.

How has outplayed anyone? He has thrown 10 passes all in garbage time of blowouts. He has not passed any test because he has not had a test.

You are overhyping a player that you know very little about. He has a long way to go and many question marks unanswered. Zach Martin has actually passed the test with an A++ so I would make that trade in a minute without thinking twice. I think you and others forget Garopollo is not even signed through the season we are slated to need a QB to replace Brady.

Trade Aladdin? WTF? Then how would we get by without "The Fez"?

Yup, let's go trade Garoppolo, a very promising rookie, to a team and replace him with someone who doesn't know the system one bit who will then be nowhere near ready to carry this team should Brady go down in the foreseeable future.

Pretty sound logic there.
