Lamarr Houston tears ACL celebrating a meaningless sack

Yes, that literally makes my head explode.

Probably my biggest Grammar Nazi peeve is the misuse of "of", as in, "He should of caught that!" Holy crap does that drive me nuts!

I've given up on "ironic" b/c it's too widely used, but I agree with you on this one 100%. I pity the grammar textbook writers who might someday have to explain how "of" became both a preposition and an unmodifiable auxiliary verb. :p

Guy is d-Bag, I dont feel one bit sorry for him, I hate play by play celebrations for doing your job, oh please please pretty please notice me and pat me on the back...frigin idiot.

Second time this season, ironically:

Same exact move . The NFL will come out with a rule that you can either throw your arms out OR jump. But you can't throw your arms out AND jump. They may be both chewing gum, it will take a committee investigation to find that out.

Yep. Should've, not should of.

heh. I was also thinking about "Dramatica" Gramatica's similar stunt back in the day. Talk about a stupid kicker.......

lol damn all He did was jump in the air. I feel bad for him. Tulloch and Houston not so much...that's just karma lol.

Did you see that Ron Jaworski said Tom Brady is "literally playing on fire" now?

They look so bad I can't help but feel a little sorry for them. The embarrassment.

The embarassment will soon die away, and then the reality of months of grueling, painful, and completely avoidable, rehab will set in.

On a side note, it's amazing how easy it can be to tear an ACL when you're taking PEDs.

Fixed that for you. Not that I know for sure, but being weak at the knees is always quite suspect in my book.

True, but as far as normal speech goes, the horse is long gone from that barn.

There's still time to stop "literally" from meaning "figuratively," though. ;)
Is there? Where do I sign up? And while I'm at it, will someone please do something about the blatant and annoying misuse of the logical fallacy to beg the question?

This needs its own name: How about the "blow out your ACL" sack dance/celebration

There's a way to jump like that without blowing out your ACL; perhaps with less force and more emphasis on being safe. All of this is to say, I can see the "blown ACL" celebration becoming a thing; celebrating a sack and doing a "mock injury"...especially against the Bears or Lions.

I'm sorry, celebrating a sack when you are getting blown out is just stupid. We were laughing when this happened and saying I bet he blew out his knee, never thinking he actually did. What a moron.

Pro tip: If you weigh 300 pounds and play a position where there is little to no jumping involved, don't do running jumps where you are likely to land at a funny angle.
