Patriots vs Broncos Week

Our corners should do what Kontradiction suggested dare the refs to throw the flags like Seattle did and just be physical throw their timing off we are already one of the most penalized teams in the league anyways.

Our big weapon is the best in the NFL. This Sunday, UNLEASH GRONK

We need home field against the Broncos... this game is everything right now. Of course, we're going to have to keep pace with Denver which is easier said than done. But we MUST win this game!

Big challenge is going to be the defense. Brady would have protection time like he did today vs the bears. Defensively, they will force manning to run hillman .

I think pats win this game easy. Best pass d In the league vs the duck tosser himself

Pats vs Jack Del rio teams usually do very well. They sucked in the AFC champ game..but otherwise always put up points on him

Hillman is the guy I worry about most, he is very fast. Also a pass rush, we all know if we don't get a rush on manning it can be a long ass day.

I don't worry about Hillman. In fact, I hope they let him run wild because, just like last year, you let the Broncos run wild in a shoot out and the Pats will win.

I don't think the Pats have the best pass defense in the league, but I do think it is arguably the best one that the Broncos will have faced.

The Broncos' offense hasn't traveled well this year. Against the Seahawks' the Broncos scored 3 points the first three quarters. Against the Jets, they were forced to punt 8 times (four drives with negative yards, the other four were less than 30 yards).

Man for the next 6 weeks our schedule is brutal with all teams having winning record. Lions are playing great.

Lets start this stretch with a W

More worried about the zebras than the Donkeys.
While I am still very much worried about the Donkeys, I am very concerned about the zebras as well. The Donkeys are very good on both sides of the ball.

It is a tough schedule, but I don't think it is as brutal as people make it:
  • The Broncos are one of the best teams in the NFL if not the best, but people are making them into this otherworldly, greatest of all time types of teams. So far their offense hasn't been unstoppable on the road and Manning is something like 2-7 in Foxboro.
  • I think Indy has had a favorable schedule in recent weeks. They showed yesterday that they can be lit up by a good QB.
  • The Lions are winning, but not playing well. Watching them play, it is shocking that they only two losses. They barely beat a bad Falcons' team. In fact, their last two games went down to the wire. Plus word is they lost Nick Fairley for the season or at least a long time.
  • Green Bay is a team that may be a product of favorable schedule. Their defense doesn't scare me and I think the Pats can win a shoot out.
I think the Pats could lose 2 or three games over the next five weeks or go 5-0. But I don't think the schedule is all as tough as people think it is. The Pats face no teams with great RBs.

Broncos are tough no matter how decent or great they may be. With manning they can certainly come in here and beat us. Tough.

Indy plays well at home..outside of home like the Broncos they struggle a bit.

Lions lost Fairley yesterday to a very "bad" knee injury they are saying. They are banged up but it megatron goes...watch out again. Their front 7 is a monster..they lose fairley it's a big blow

GBs D isn't good. But Rodgers is one of the best...same with rivers...tougher schedule this year then last. But we have a much better secondary. No matter what a lot of these games could/will come down to the 4th QTR and that's not good for my blood pressure.

They W vs Denver and I will change my mind on a few games. I want to see how they handle ware and miller. OL has been great since that KC game and I hope it continues

Rob, I hear you. However, both of the defenses you named are more aggressive than that of the Pats. They are both also good at stopping the run. The Pats have not been able to do that on a consistent basis. It's all relative, I guess. It's going to be a tough game. Do I think the Pats can win? Yes. However, some people are falling victim to the moment. The Donkeys will not come in here and lay down like the Bears.

We will enter the game without our best LB and defensive signal caller. Hightower played well yesterday and you can see the maturity in his game this season. Stopping the run will be a difficult task, I believe. We will enter the game without our best outside rusher. Losing Mayo means NE cannot often use Hightower in this role, as was the case earlier this season where he played well rushing the passer. Ninko is playing well, but we need someone to apply pressure from the other side.

This is a game where Edelman should shine. Talib will likely be lined up on LaFell and/or Gronk. Gronk and Talib going at it is worth the price of admission, though nobody can match a healthy Gronk. Talib is big, strong and physical. We'll see. Denver's D-Line should have played well, especially those bookends.

With all that said, NE can win this game and it should be another epic Brady v Manning matchup.

I don't think anyone is saying that. This could be a shootout with a score of 34-3 or a smaller game of 24-20. Either way it will come down the the 4th and who can convert that 3rd and 5 with 3 min left type of game I think.

High of 41 and windy..so it will feel in the mid 30s. I hope manning heads to the Natick mall before to get some new mits and coats. Denvers weather in the winter last 2 years has been a joke..no snow and 40s and 50s..

High of 39 degrees is all I need to know. All we need is some good crowd noise and Manning will be leaving this game in tears.

Respect. There are people in this very thread predicting an easy win for the Patriots.

I agree. A win against Denver would set up a good run. This team's confidence is trending up and a win against Denver would put it pretty high. Just think about how this season started and where the team has a chance to be with a win next week. Let that sink in . . .

Well the Denver test is tough as I said before, Talib against gronk is interesting because if there is anyone that can match gronk I think it is Talib, he is fast and big and aggressive. I'm not sure what to think of this game but I would not be surprised of the result either way.

Indy, sure didn't look good yesterday and their pass defense if terrible, I know they are missing their best corner but still that doesn't make up for the disaster they showed yesterday. I like NE against them.

GB, well they don't scare me, I think their defense is overrated and the saints picked them apart last night, Brady should destroy them. Rigers has one guy to throw to in Nelson, not worried.

Lions, well if you can hold up to their defense they are not scary either, stafford is bound to throw an int and let's face it if NE gets up on them they won't cave like the falcons did. Not impressed.

Other than Denver and after yesterday's showing I think NE can win 5 of 6 going forward. I still think Denver has a bit more going for them and if NE can't rush manning then I think that will be a huge issue. I do think NE can play against Denver's defense, but it won't be like yesterday. Brady has to get rid of the ball fast, he won't have 4-5 seconds to decide. No matter what happens or what the score is I wouldn't put to much into it, just see it as a measuring stick.
