Stacked at wide out? Edelman and LaFell are the only two really good wide outs. Dobson, Tyms, and Dola haven't contributed much at all.

I never said we are stacked with elite players but we have many offensive pieces that play different roles for us. Look at the depth there and compare it to the depth we have at LB or DE. If Hightower gets injured we are more ****ed than if any of our offensive players (except Gronk) have a season ending injury..

VJax has cap hits right around 10 million in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Thanks, Supe. That's a bit much for my liking especially given the performance of the offense last four weeks.

yeah and what if there aren't any good lb and de available? we shouldnt try to improve our recieveing core then?

As I said in my very first post clearly, of course an upgrade would be nice but not nearly as essential as other positions. If we can have him for a reasonable price that doesn't prevent us from extending Revis and McC then lets have it.

While our needs are 1) LB, 2) DE, 3) RB and then WR at 4, I would not mind giving up a 4th for him as I think he's worth that.

What's his contract? I'm not against giving up a draft pick but will this hurt our chances of Revis, DMC, Chandler, Hightower, etc. resigning in the next couple offseasons?

Something like $5m for the rest of the season and then the Pats I believe can cut him without any cap hit after the season if he doesn't re-do it.

For his acquiring team VJAX's cap hits would be $5,294,118 in 2014, $9,777,777 in 2015, and $9,777,778 in 2016. Please note that his new team would most likely waive a player with a $420,000 salary saving $222,353 making the true cost of acquiring VJAX in 2014 just over $5 million.

VJ would be an all in move.
With a 4th round pick were there no upgrades at LB or DE available, I'd consider a one half season rental. Consider is the key word. 50/50 consideration.
Tyms or Dobson would be cut.

I'm almost positive you can address more than one need at once. ill double check though and get back to you on it.
How do you plan on doing that? How are you going to find a reputable LB and DE for a price that wont blow up the cap? Smart ass

Gotta figure it would be Tyms, with a try at bringing him back on the PS.

Im not to pushed about getting VJax. Would be an upgrade but I dont know if the Upgrade is big enough that id give up the 2nd or 3rd round pick needed. If they think he will make a difference and target him I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Would be kind of funny to get Wright and VJax for Mankins. But no way that the Bucs will agree to only get their fourth round pick back.

Not sure anyone will give them a 2nd..so they're are going to have to lower their asking price if they want to move him. Maybe could be had for 3rd or 4th by tomorrow night if still available and really want to move him. But i am fine not making a move for him. They always call guys on the block to see where they stand. I don't expect them to sign Vjax especially after Lafells coming out party

we don't need him.

Vjax for a 2nd rounder= iffy no
Vjax+Lavonte David for a 2nd rounder= orgasmic yes...(let me dream)

I cant even believe that some of you would think twice about giving up a third rounder for Jackson. He'd EASILY be the best WR Brady's had since Moss. We aren't talking about a "learn the system" kind of player here. He's a legit stud who's talented enough to come in and make an immediate and significant impact on offense right away.

Screw next years third rounder. Some of you act like it's mortgaging the future. With the number drafted WR's we've had bust around here, I'd happily give that pick up in exchange for a "win now" move.

we played a crummy defense today, so I'm not ready to say "we don't need him." Edleman has the dropsies, Lafell has emerged, Gronk is back. Beyond that, we don't have much.
