Chandler Jones season in jeopardy

Couple things, I know a little about hip injuries first hand. If he dislocated it he would not walk on it, period. Second my guess is a labrum tear, that's not great, in very rare cases it can heal on its own. In most cases it requires surgery to anchor it. I have three anchors in my right hip. It is a long recovery 4-6 months.

Ok so since reporters suck and half the reporting is just flat out fabrication I'm not sure what to believe. So when he goes on IR then I'll believe he has no chance to play this season.

I like others think this is a big deal, the next six games will prove if NE has anything for the playoffs, I'm thinking they go 3-3.

Haven't read through all the posts, put I'm just putting this out there...

On 3rd and long situations, why not line up Jaime Collins at DE and rush the passer occasionally? I know we are thin at LB, but JC did get 10 1\2 sacks as a DE his last season in college.

It's October. I didn't realize 6 weeks took us to January.

Thanks, doc...

Mods need to change this title to reflect REGULAR season. Very misleading title...

We are in a division where 9 wins will likely be enough to get to the playoffs.

BTW, I don't understand why Cutler should carve us up. We have a great defensive backfield.

The thinking is that Cutler will all have all day to throw w/ the Pats best pass rusher gone ( and the pass rush was average when he was around). The best CBs can't cover forever, given enough time the WR will be open.

Pardon the tangent- but we're not really cursed. The problem is our roster management and drafting making these injuries more serious because we have so few great players. Example: Back in the day it might suck if Ty Law went down, but hey you had Milloy still back there anyway. If Rodney went down, it was a major bummer, but Bruschi was still headhunting and making sure even successful plays didn't get out-of-hand. If big Willie went down, it did hurt the pass rush, but hey you had good LBs, Safeties, and CBs so you often got sacks just because of coverage down the field.

Now days, we panic when 2 or 3 injuries occur because there's just nobody good making up for them. Seriously, why was most of Rutgers football on our team? Why is Ninkovic becoming relevant every single season instead of being a reliable fan-favorite type utility player? Why is our WR situation often questionable so the offense can't make up for a bad defense?

It all comes down to drafting and roster management, and we're really feeling the impact the past 2 seasons of the bad choices we've made over a period of years. (I'm not saying we haven't gotten a good hit here and there but the consistency has been wildly lacking.)

So cursed? No. Not cursed. We just have an FO problem that I think some people fail to acknowledge and others fail to connect to our injury "bugs." (Which aren't bugs... just we don't have depth. I can't begin to understand why our defensive communication goes to crap without Mayo. SOMEBODY else should know something back there by now. Seriously.)

Bill Belichick has the very best drafting record in the league during his tenure when it comes to acquiring starters, pro bowlers, all pros, etc. He is top 10 (probably top 5) when it comes to the same stat in the last five years.

He had a really bad run from 2004-2009 and has made some notable mistakes, but your post is a prime example of why fans need to be more informed of success rates around the league.

As for the depth, injuries are never great, but how confident were people in the depth heading into 2003? Depth is depth for a reason, it is either young players or vets who weren't good enough to earn a starting spot elsewhere. Only time will tell how capable NE is at handling these issues.

A big loss gets (reportedly) bigger. But no change for the Bears game. In fact, the Broncos game too. Next man up, and if we get him back, we get him back. Someone prove their doubters wrong, it's time to do it.

Big change for the Broncos game. Gotta get manning off of his timing..do that by pressure and we just lost our best pressure guy. Lucky we have a good secondary this year

Alright him being out a long time does scare the **** outta me.

No, I did not mean that it doesn't matter, just that the Broncos are just 1 more week away. We know what we'll have.

And once again, would love to see someone we don't expect much from step up. You can always hope. And of course there's always the trade deadline (Why don't we have a facepalm emoji?)

Completely missed his point

I'm surprised how a smart guy like Belichick didn't do anything in this regard. Even if Jones wasn't hurt now, playing 100% of the snaps would make him injured sooner or later or washed up for the playoffs just like last year

Thanks, doc...

I only play one on TV but I have had about every hip, knee and ankle injury out there and the hip is pretty limited in what takes 6 weeks to months to heal. :)

I'm starting to see that depth at a position has just as much to do with having a backup you can depend on as it does with keeping your starters healthy.

Doesn't this, and Denver's Thursday night drubbing of the Chargers all but guarantee we will trade for an impact player before the trade deadline?

He pretty much played 100% last year and wasn't injured or missed a game. This could have been a freak injury. It was still early. Ya playing 100% of or almost that # of snaps will take a toll..but again you just don't know.

WOuld have been nice to have some depth before hand i agree

Seriously, are you a doctor? I'm wondering because i don't think anything's changed and there are two unknown sources, neither a doctor or speaking for the team, and 30 reports that are really just rehashes of those two.

I'd be curious if a medical person could at least throw out some possibilities.
