Emmanuel Sanders wanted to be a Pat

I kind of remember when this was going down but I was dealing with a bunch of life **** at the time and didn't follow it much, all I remember was he was a restricted free agent and we had to make an offer?

Can someone fill me in with what happened and why we didn't land him?

No point in beating a dead horse. I would have loved for Sanders to be here and while being disappointed in Amendola's production, he has provided some spark to the offense when his body is functioning correctly.

The Amendola deal is a bigger deal than the one Sanders settled on from Denver, although Amendola's disappointing play so far probably means that he won't play the deal out. Sanders wanted to play for Denver, which is why he screwed over the Chiefs.

Pats **** the bed originally. Steelers were cash strapped on the cap and could have offered a little bit more $. Then could've locked him up with DA deal. Homers need to stop searching for reasons to say the Pats couldn't have signed ES for a particular price. They were wrong, admit it, and move on. Honestly, I think the LaFell signing made up quite a bit for missing on ES

its kind of a moot issue though...the article up on CSNNE that LaFell was Denvers #1 choice, and wouldve signed him if not sanders.

who is to say LaFell wouldnt put up similar numbers in Denvers offense as a 3rd option aside Welker/the thomas'? with his poor start to the season, he is still on pace to get around 800yards and 7td's which is still prety good

if you want to say anything, the problem was makin a low ofer to sign him in RFA last year. we couldve used him.

Lafell is starting to win me over because i wasn't a big fan of the move to begin with as it slapped of more cheapskating from Bill and Bob however there is no doubt in my mind and i specifically remember saying when the Sanders to Pats deal came up that we should go all out to get him.

What a coincidence! So did I!

Hindsight is 20/20. Honestly I am fine with amendola and lafell.
People tend to forget the stone hands sanders had prior to denver.
The WR corp is not a weakness anymore. Dobson, lafell, Tyms, edelman and amendola round out a very wide range of skill sets that help the team.

I don't get why we are trying to recreate a 2007 type offense, especially since with this one Tom has been averaging 35pts a game once the oline started blocking. All this is is a pissing match between "homers" and pessimists.

I think it ends up Lafell and Edelman or just sanders. Amendola was already signed and signing sanders for sure would have meant the other two would not be here.

I'm good with they way things played out.

Torching the 9th string secondary is only impressive if another team's WR does it.

Most people just want offenses to look like fantasy teams. It's not about the flashy names, it's about evaluating players properly and adding the players who have value in "X position" week in and week out while also having enough cap for depth.

denver also got tj ward, vasquez, ware, etc,etc..

so much for the myth that spending in free agency doesn't equal wins. but at least kraft is happy that we saved some money. maybe he'll reinvest into the revs!:D

Sanders, Welker, Talib - all piss me off in a Broncos uniform

Can we snatch up 1 of their big 3 FA's this off-season? Miller/Thomas/Thomas

This is great point.

The investment of millions of dollars in 2014 has produced a 6-1 record in Denver for 2014.

That's a huge improvement over Denver's 6-1 record through 7 games in 2013.

What would patsfans.com be without Mensa types like this.

We currently have one more loss than denver. We've been doing fine
