Number two...the lack of field level, near field end zone seats. Dog Pound we ain't.
I'll be their Sunday!
But I disagree with the OP. Gillette is known to be quiet, but I thought in the 3 home games so far, that the stadium been loud. Fans have done their job.
I was at both games, CIN & NYJ. CIN game was loudest non-playoff game. Jets noise was not bad, for Gillette. However, it depends on where you sit. CIN seat section was loud but when I was at the Jets game in section 110 as always the front row corporate pukes spent the entire 1st half away from their seats getting beer & food. I sit on the end so it's constant traffic in front of me as they file in and out. That said, as always, they never once cheered or clapped or anything the entire game. I find this beyond incredible.
Half the seats around me were empty until end of 1st. People were coming in in groves .....
I, along with Philip Rivers, noticed that the acoustics of the stadium suddenly improved drastically when Ty Law was honored at halftime. Wonder what Kraft did during halftime to improve those acoustics to where the stadium sounded EXTREMELY loud during the half whereas it was flat out embarrassing during the game.
THAT'S the problem!!!
What the hell are they doing in groves????? Picking apples???????
Get yer arses to the STADIUM people!!!!!!
I thought the crowd sucked from my nosebleed seats on Thursday. I have a feeling it won't be too loud for Chicago but will be nuts for Denver, assuming it's a close game.
Was a big problem Thursday...idk if it was traffic or what but me and my buddy looked over and the gate was packed 10 min into game...longer
Psssst... He's poking fun at your spelling error. The word you were going for is "droves" not "groves."
Nah, they'd rather sit and sulk, then come here and grouse over how "majorly pathetic" or what a "dud" it was. Nothing like being part of the problem you complain about.
Couldn't agree more I was Arrowhead 3 weeks ago and had nose bleed seats 5 rows from the top in the endzone and you seemed a lot closer than the upper deck in Gillette. The stadium is certainly more conducive to hold crowd noise.NFL fans don't vary significantly from city to city. It's all about the building. Compared to other stadiums, Gillette is built like a saucer while others resemble teacups. If the Krafts deserve criticism for anything, it's the layout of their stadium -- open north end, "skylights," vaulted upper deck, awful club seat placement, extra-wide soccer field footprint -- poorly conceived all around.
I can only go from what I heard over my TV. And as I said, I'm sure that there were quite a few there making noise. It looks like there are different opinions regrading noise at the Jets game.
I have sat in the "red seats" before and found them to be just as loud as the rest of the stadium. Maybe with the rain they had the option of going inside to watch the game last Thursday.
Regardless, the next 6 games are going to be tough and the team needs the support of the fans at the home games.
I did my part. The crowd was pathetic. Hopefully it's OK with you that I noticed.
