Report: Patriots are one of top two candidates to land Ray Rice

Well, if the Patriots do sign Ray Rice, I hope they put a clause in his contract that says he has to take the stairs.

Knocking someone down the stairwell is a lot worse...

I really doubt the Hernandez debacle made BB actually give a s*** about character issues or even his own public image. If he thinks rice has value it wouldn't surprise me at all if he ended up here. Of course Kraft could veto it and I would still think that it's unlikely.

If he's cleared to play by the league, I'd take him in a heart beat.

Let's sign him and Incognito on the same day. Then, all the idiots will be happy.

Ya I guess I'd like to know of last year was a down year for him or if he's just truly out of gas.
Last year was a down year for the Ravens in general, but particularly their OL.

True they did have problems blocking. He would probably play his ass off because of whats happened. Just not sure what he has left.

Absolutely a legitimate question. I'd say he'd be worth bringing in. Of course, Kraft couldn't bring him in now, even if he wanted to. He's already burned that bridge.

Ahh.. I like respectful Deus.

+1 Like for you.

EDIT: But wait, there's a Kraft burn at the end. :sigh:

Rice still has talent...their OL like Kontra said didn't do much last year

  • My guess is that those who might think that signing Ray Rice is OK actually don't think what he did is all that wrong. Bingo...

My guess is that you'd be singing the praises of Rice and Incognito the moment the Patriots signed them.

Because Patriots..

Bingo.

Do people seriously forget that the Patriots held a private workout for runningback Derrick Washington just last year?

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_...llegations-did-not-investigate-title-ix-cases

One alleged rape, one alleged physical assault, one sexual assault and one domestic assault -- before one of its star athletes left campus in 2010.

1st incident - October 2008:
A sophomore at Missouri reported that running back Derrick Washington raped her in her dorm room.

"He grabbed both my wrists with one hand and kept doing [sic] and just proceeded to put his penis inside of me," the woman told "Outside the Lines" about the 2008 incident. "When I was finally able to push him off me, he just kept saying that if I said anything they would kick him off the football team. And football was his life, so if I said anything, he would kill me and kill himself."

2nd Incident - May 2010:
A women's soccer player said Washington punched her at a bar.

3rd incident: June 2010:
A 2009 Missouri graduate and former athletic department tutor reported that Washington -- who was at her apartment to have sex with her roommate -- crept into her bedroom in the middle of the night and sexually assaulted her.

4th incident: September 2010
Washington was arrested for beating up his ex-girlfriend.

In September 2011, a jury convicted him of sexually assaulting Braeckel, and a judge sentenced him to five years in prison. He served four months as part of a first-time offenders program and had to register as a sex offender. In February 2012, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor third-degree domestic assault for the attack on his former girlfriend and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, which he served concurrently with the deviate sexual assault sentence.

Derrick Washington, who just got out of jail for committing rape...and the Patriots decided to call that guy in for a private workout fresh out of jail.

Sickening. I'd wish I could say the Patriots are the "good guys" but they're no different than the rest of the league.

Derrick Washington, who just got out of jail for committing rape. An absolute lowest of the low scumbags, was actually accused of rape before that as well but the school botched the investigation and he ended up raping a different girl in her sleep (snuck in her dorm and raped her in her sleep, the girl was a virgin too).

And the Patriots decided to call that guy in for a private workout fresh out of jail.

Do people seriously forget that the Patriots often use workouts for scouting/not signing purposes?

If BB does it, even the homer in me will not be on board.

Are you trying to justify giving a private workout to a guy who just got out of jail for rape?

Wow.
