2015 NFL Mock Drafts

I am really worried about the Jerod Mayo injury.

Besides, the New England Patriots will still have three defensive lineman next season who were first round draft picks: Wilfork, Jones, Easley.

It would be tough to go into another season with the lack of depth at LB. Who is even sure of Mayo's timetable for next year?

I'm hoping we sign a DT in free agency. There are some very good ones. I like the de's better in this draft. Scherff will go way too high it appears. I'm thinking DE or McKinney. Heck, we could take McKinney first and trade up in the 2nd for a de. We should get supplemental 3 which would allow us to deal our own 3. We haven't done will with our late two's and threes.

Unless Scherff somehow slips, I like McKinney or DE, too. Shawn Oakman, Arik Armstead and Dante Fowler are my top 3 right now; Bud Dupree is on the fringe as a DE/OLB, depending on whether I'm convinced he can be a 3 down player and play multiple roles effectively.

I think Oakman's size/speed will get him into the TOP 15. We could sign a dt, draft McKinney and move up for a kid like Fowler, Dupree or one of the Mizzou de's and be as close to having a complete defense as we had at any time since 04. Keeping Revis too.

Quite possible. Right now Scherff and Oakman are 1-2 on my board for the Pats, and if either is within trade up range I'm interested. If not, there is a ton of good talent.

There should me more discussion of Shane Ray on here - guy is an athletic freak. Like him a lot more than Ealy last year.

I disagree on Easley. I think he has good size for a 3 tech DT. But he needs a full off season to build himself back to that size. It's hard to be the ideal DT size after missing most of a season and most of the off season and pre season.
We'll see now with Chandler out a month, god d%#*!@t

Really hoping we draft a DT and not sign a retread.

Carl Davis of Iowa appears to have the run stuffing skills we need. If he is lines up next to a gap jumper like Easley, that would be a nice combo, if Easley learns to play the run better.

If we're looking for a 5-tech type, Bobby Richardson of Indiana is a good mid-round option. 6-3 and 288 although he looks longer than that, he's more of a pass rushing 3-4 end than a run stopper like Davis. At the below link there's a couple of 2014 games of his. He gets 3 sacks against Indiana State and goes against Scherff in the Iowa game (hint: Scherff wins but Richardson does ok).

These guys aren't retreads though; Suh, Fairley, McCoy, Knighton, and Odrick.

If we could get any of those guys, while keeping Revis and McCourty, I'd he stoked.

Extending Revis really gets his cap number down. If we can extend him and get 15 figure to 13m coupled with the release of VW and Amendola saves us about 20m. Should be enough to get all of our guys signed like; Solder, McCourty, Vereen, Gost, etc.

I know it's just Scott Wright. But, he gives us our choice of; McKinney, Oakman or Fowler. I sincerely hope that doesn't happen. Because, Mayo's central nervous system couldn't handle it:)

I'll go with the planet theory on the pick. Not too many like Oakman on the planet. Give Jerrod Mayo some of that stuff Ray Lewis rubbed on his knees to get him healthy. Deer antler oil or something.

You're right - major overload! Orgasmic bliss !

My plan:

1. Draft Oakman.

2. Kidnap Fowler and McKinney and fuse their DNA with Hightower and Ayers.

Oakman had an ugly incident at PSU. But, he didn't hit anybody. If it wasn't Bill O'Brien's first month on campus and two months after the Sandusky news. He prob gets put on some sort of school discipline. And, stays at PSU. It is what it is as BB likes to say.

I get the Oakman love but he was supposed to have had a stinker last weekend against WVU. Does he blow hot and cold?

I think he had 4 personal fouls. I thought he lost his cool a little. Was a very chippy game by both teams.

Four personal fouls! Sounds like a perfect Patriot considering how many penalties we're giving up this year.

Oakman had 2.5 TFL and a fumble recovery in that game according to Rob Rang:

I haven't seen the game, and he may have had some down parts, but "stinker" may be a tad harsh. From what I've seen, he's been pretty consistent this season. He's still young, and a work in progress.

You are probably right. I withdraw 'stinker'.

Again, I haven't seen the game, so I can't judge. It's quite possible it wasn't one of his best. I wasn't criticizing. Rang's comment got my attention, though, after your description.
