Bedard film review: Patriots vs Jets

I followed one of your quote alerts into this thread just now, and I saw this. So, let me explain....

I do have Rob on ignore, and I had no idea that he was posting on the Bedard stuff. I thought I was the only one doing so. Once I found out that Rob was doing it, I did take off. It was not in any childish snit, though. I had things to do, which I'd been putting off in order that someone would be bringing Bedard's stuff to the board. Once I knew someone else was doing it, I left to do the things that needed to be done. Trips to the bank and the like can be put off, but you eventually have to do them, and Bank of America isn't particularly generous with their hours of business. As a result of leaving before Bedard's 2 hours were up, I was able to make the 2 time sensitive stops I needed to, have gotten back home already, and can make the other stops after the dinner/traffic hours.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming....

That's good. Just to make sure, you have total access to this thread?

No. When you have someone on ignore, and they start threads, those threads are invisible to you. That's why I didn't know another thread existed on this week's Bedard film review.

BTW, not seeing those threads is usually a good thing, IMO.

OK, then I will let my thread in the Admin forum stand. I'm trying to get Ian to see if: regarding people you have on Ignore, can you (hopefully, very soon) still see their threads while at the same time not having to view their posts.

Although I do not like Deus, I don't have him ignore. As long as he is willing debate without looking down at people and ramming his opinions down other people's throats, I would have no problem debating him.

And exactly how many years from now do you expect that behavior to kick in?

I guess he will be on tomorrow. Some early observations from his feed

2 plays after being flagged for ineligible receiver downfield, Devey was in the end zone with LOS at the 10. Uh...

That's the reason Brady couldn't throw it away and instead took the -1 sack.

FINALLY... an interior lineman that can stretch the field...

Wait...

Thanks to Rob and DI for providing those of us who have become Felger and Mazz-intolerant, and get road rage if we listen more than 2 minutes. Its a great service to us all....and I don't care WHO starts the thread. ;)

My last Felger and Mazz story was the caller who, while complaining about the defense, longed for the good old days of 2003 when the Pats when the Pats had a top 5 defense. Of course Felger and Mazz agreed, all three of them ignoring the fact that in 2003 the Pats defense ranked 23rd in the league in total D.

Bedard is an oasis in a desert of snarkiness and stupidity, that's gotten to the point where I my tolerance level is about 2 minutes......and shrinking. So thanks again to DI and Rob for doing this each week.

BTW- on the so called Devey play. Its a perfect example of the difference between trying to analyze what you see on film, compared to what the coaches are able to do because they both see and KNOW the context of the play.

Ken, you are probably talking about the 24th yardage ranking in 2001. NE was dominant in nearly every area in 2003.

Ken, you know I like your stuff, but I can't disagree with you more about the 2003 defense. Not only do I think that that defense was a great defense, but I think it was the greatest defense in Patriots history and probably a top 10-20 in NFL history. It also shows that the way the NFL ranks defenses is bogus. Yards mean very little when ranking defenses. It is more about points, third down conversions, and turnovers.

BTW, the Pats were 7th in total defense in 2003 (still not top 5). They were also #1 in points allowed, seven in third down conversion rate, 1st in INTs, and second in total take aways.

Felger knows football, but seems to have decided to ignore hard football knowledge for his cliches and trolling Patriots fans. Mazz knows very little about football and it always gets exposed when Bedard comes in. He needs to get Wiggy back who despite playing for close to a decade seems to know very little about football when it comes to analysis.
