Report: Patriots are one of top two candidates to land Ray Rice

This is about the most appropriate time I can find to use this one...

I'm conflicted on this issue. To say Ray Rice should never play again is to imply that there haven't been tons of other guys who have been accused of the same thing in the past 10 to 20 years+. If you're the NFL how do you black ball one guy while you go soft on everyone else accused of the same thing?
I'll admit I kind of took an out-of-sight, out-of-mind approach to players with legal problems in the past. I just wanted to see the good players play. I don't think it's right for me to now act all ethical and say I'm shocked and apalled that a player would ever do such a thing (Rice).
Finally, If the NFL had taken a hard line approach on domestic violence a long time ago maybe Rice would have thought twice about hitting his wife. He probably never imagine he would be black balled based upon the precendent they set.

there is ZERO point ZERO % of the patriots signing ray rice this year.

Which still makes them a top 2 team to sign him, apparently.

I bought a Powerball ticket this morning. So I am a potential millionaire lottery winner. I am surprised that the Globe didn't run my story in today's paper.

That is about as legitimate a story as Rice to the Pats.

Man , JUST NO.

I believe he's not going to play a down in NFL any soon, others players would just break his neck and hit him to really cause injury. It's in the interest of the league to not have this scumbag associated with it's image. But in Goodell's world I don't know...

He isn't close to what he used to be on the field. Do not want. Give Gray a chance (or 1200) before thinking about signing that guy.

Might as well make it a twofer -- sign Ray Rice to replace Ridley and bring Ray Lewis out of retirement to replace Mayo. Then a district court judge will declare charges against Hernandez a case of mistaken identity, and we're Super Bowl bound! :confused:o_O:eek:

Get them all some deer antler spray and we'll be good to go! Just leave the white suits at home.

They might run your story if you punch your wife in the face in an elevator in downtown Boston.

Isn't Mr. Rice from the vaunted Rutgers Univ I am sure he has Stephen Belichick's approval.;)

even without the domestic abuse incident, he is just done as a player. wasnt good last year in Baltimore..

I think he still has the talent...defiantly. Just a scumbag

That must have been a typo in that story. I'm sure they meant the Raiders, not the Patriots. Easy mistake.

bring back blount. it was stupid to let him leave in the 1st place. but at least we're 15m under the cap.
good for robert kraft and his bu$ine$$.

If he gets reinstated, the Patriots should bring him in for a look. If he can still play, he'll probably fill a need.
