Chandler Jones reportedly out for a month

If the one month report is right I expect him to miss 6 weeks. Since when has a pats player's initial injury timetable been spot on....?
That is why BB never gives estimates to return. He expects worthless comments like yours.

Everyone wants to talk about Tommy Kelly but the real mistake was when Belichick pushed Michael Buchanan to injured reserve to clear a roster spot for a freaking special teams LB. Buchanan had an ankle injury that is likely healed by now. That was the F up.
Thanks doctor. So glad you give us insight to the details of injuries or at least that you make them up so you can criticize about something that you are lying about. Good contribution homie.

No problem dawg [emoji111]️

I love how everyone is ready to concede the denver game...at home. I still think theres a solid chance we win that game.

it also makes sense why we picked up ayers...he was solid as a pass-rusher as a LB

People are making light of the Pats losing their best pass rusher on a team that really doesn't "get after" the quarterback. I just hope for once the Pats get a guy back sooner than expected. I'm not counting on any of these guys brought in to make much, if any impact, remember how Sopoaga was supposed to help?

Hahaha very true dude. I think his deal was something in his hip cuff, IIRC, which is what I think Jones' injury is as well. The hip is such a ****ty little design. The biggest and most powerful muscles in the body flanked and stabilized by stuff the size of your forearm muscles. These athletes are all hips and it amazes me that we don't see more hip cuff injuries than we do in football.

I think Talib's deal was that he's a ****y and is not a gamer. Dude was looking to just get out of the biggest games of his life because he couldn't handle the pressure.

And now we see why there was a large contingent of people who wanted to see the Pats do more along the DL and build a rotation of pass rushers. I don't mind both signings today, but I'm struggling to think of where the pass rush will come from, short of consistently blitzing.

As an aside, some of you are serious quitters, already giving up on the Denver game because of this.

No offense, but you blast people for starting "self serving ""I told you so" threads. And you do the same thing in this post. How is this any different.

Wouldn't it be easier for you to say "I told you so. Nah! Nah!"

Please don't ever be a hypocrite and pull up a thread I posted several years ago to call it out as bad form when you are doing victory laps in this post.

Good for you! You were right. And you are also a hypocrite. Just don't break your arm patting yourself on the back.

Yeah, it isn't about the pass rush to beat Manning. It is all about bumping his receivers off their routes at the line. The Pats have shut down Manning in the past with no pass rush and him never getting hit before.

Obviously, having Jones in that game would definitely help, but if Revis, Browner, Dennard, Arrington, Collins, etc. can break up the timing routes of Broncos' receivers; the Pats can certainly overcome the loss of Jones. It isn't an easy task, but lesser Patriots defenses have done it.

BTW, that is why the 49ers got crushed. They played off the line most of the game and when their CBs lined up on the line, they backpedaled rather than hitting the receivers on the line. That will be one game where I will not mind if Browner or Dennard get a holding call or two for being too physical in the first five yards.

I didn't give sole credit to myself in that post. You'll noticed I mentioned a "large contingent" of people (because I certainly wasn't alone in that line of thinking, nor was I even the most vocal) and I certainly didn't start a thread to call attention to it. Big difference, and you're reaching... badly.

Rob, I came in to say exactly the same thing.

Also, I'll look at it this way. With the additions of Branch and Ayers, the defensive depth will be improved once Jones gets back.

We've established that the regular season almost doesn't matter for this team. They need to be healthier and deeper for the playoffs.

And my thread that you like to pull up from time to time wasn't me taking sole credit either. I talked about all the people who were labeled homers for not losing faith on the team. I never spoke about myself individually. I am not reaching at all.

Hey, go ahead! Take your victory lap. This is a big win for you and the rest of the people who were right. You must be so happy that you can declare yourself right at the expense of the rest of the league.

Here is what I wrote:

Well since we gotta wait two weeks for the Pats' next game, I figured I would give a shout out to all us homers who had to take a lot of crap this preseason and offseason because we subscribe to the philosophy of "In Bill We Trust".

Kudos to everyone who stood by Belichick and Brady and company while being abused for being homers. We had to fight against the "the game has passed Belichick by", "Brady has lost his passion for football" (or the alternative "Football just isn't important to Brady anymore"), and "We only have so many years left with Brady and Belichick isn't giving him the weapons" crowds.

I would like to say that I am not one to pat myself on the back for being right, but we all know I would be lying.:D Actually, I just wanted to give everyone who stood strong against all the Chicken Littles a thread to feel vindicated for your convictions. I figured I would wait until the Pats are either eliminated from the playoffs or win the Super Bowl, but it is going to be a long two weeks to kill. Besides, win or lose the Super Bowl, this year has far exceeded everyone's expectations.

Although it was more sarcastic, confrontational, and tongue in cheek, but it is the same thing.

Sorry to ruin your big victory by pointing out your hypocrisy.

The bolded disagrees with your assertion that you never took credit for it... especially the opening sentence in the last paragraph. But I never had a problem with people taking credit for being right (even though "Let's hear it for the homers!" was an epic failure as the issues the homers argued against for the 2009 and 2010 season reared their heads in embarrassing fashion against a team we beat 45-3 previously). What I have issue with is starting a douchey thread to call attention to it. As I said, you're reaching here in the hope of getting a "gotcha!", and are looking all the worse for it. If you're so butthurt that you wish to continue this personal pissing contest, then I'm your huckleberry over PM. Otherwise, let's stop derailing this thread, shall we?

I am done with this. I just wanted to point the hypocrisy. I am done otherwise. I told you so posts are all the same. It is just the level of douchieness that differs and my thread was purposely douchey to throw it back at the Chicken Littles and trolls who were condescending and abusive to other posters during the season when they thought they were right.

Was there any sign that this was coming? I did not notice anything during the game.

And 104 tackles. He's not just a pass rushing OLB. If he's healthy this is a good pickup.

And 8 PD, along with an INT and a FF. Not a bad season in 2012.

The question is why Ayer's play has fallen off. His 2013 season wasn't nearly as good as 2012. It could have been his knees, and he could be better after surgery, and just not in favor with the new regime. Or ...

On the bright side, at least people won't be able to complain that Jones played 97% of the defensive snaps this year.

The homers were no better than the CL's that season. But other than that, that's fine. I'll drop it.

As for Chandler, PP2 stated in another thread that he believes Chandler was hurt on the blocked FG attempt. Stated everyone else was jumping for joy while Chandler sort of gingerly walked off the field. Could be possible the original injury occurred in the .GIF you posted and he aggravated it on the blocked FG.

Or he could have injured it during the play I was speaking of and it was hurting him all game but he played through it. I say the image of him walking gingerly after that play, but he might have been walking gingerly for the entire game after he injured his hip and no one noticed it and the camera didn't catch it.

This sucks, he's our most consistent pass rusher. I thought against the Bills he showed improvement against the run (although the Jets was the opposite).
