Patriots expected to sign DL Alan Branch

I read a tweet saying "Branch to sign with the Patriots" and thought that Deion was coming back, lol...

Isn't Branch awaiting suspension for DUI? Or is that now in the past?

Ayers, Branch rebuilding this defense on the fly is something i can't believe the injuries have hit this hard.
A 3-4 interesting few more players I would like to see brought in Max Bullough and a trade for Sio Moore our linebackers would be ridiculous.

I recall him being a beast against the run...so just what the front 7 needs.

Alan_Branch(325lbs) is a baby-Ted_Washington (375lbs) for our run-D

Dunno about Ayers. 2 knee issues makes me think he cannot run.

well this is what happens when you have no depth on the DL, you have to go out and grab some drunk off the street.

To help plug the holes in run D, that drunk is exactly what the Patriots DL rotation needs. Allegedly, Kevin Faulk didn't mind a puff. He was one of my favorite Patriots.

If he is healthy and his head is on straight. He can help us.

I'd like to see a 4-3 Under base:

LDE Branch - NT Wilfork - 3Tech Jones/Easley - RDE Ninkovich
SAM Ayers - MLB Hightower - WLB Collins

Stand Nink up and change the spacing and you can have a 1-gapping 3-4. Move Hightower up on the line in sub packages and take out one of the big linemen.

Ahhh good ol' Mount Washington. Dude was a freaking tank. He only had one season in New England (arguably on his last legs), but he was a solid player and basically immovable up front.

OK, our run defense has been awful. We bring in Branch. I think that Branch will help. Personally, I think that we can now stop worrying about starters and depth at DT.

Ayers is a question mark depending on health, but is certainly worth the trade. He may not be ready for a few weeks. We'll see.

Whatever happens, just make sure Branch doesn't watch "Blue Bloods"

Assuming health, what do we think of this potential line up guys?

Siliga - Wilfork - Branch
Ninkovich/Ayers - Hightower - Collins - Jones/Ayers
Revis - McCourty - Chung - Browner
Is that a workable 3-4 front with our players? I hope Belichick isn't finished with the additions (i.e. go get V-Jax and more talent if you can, we're in win now mode). Obviously this is dependent on the health of Siliga and Jones but to me, it looks like a workable unit.

Chris Jones should be in there

I don't list Chris Jones as a starter. In any instance, Easley would be my first cab off the rank then Jones, who IMO, is a solid depth option.

The five healthy right now are the most depth we've had at DT since Seymour, Wilfork, Warren and Jarvis Green.
I'm going to piss my pants.
Yeah -3 pro bowlers

Looks like some holes on the front 7 will be disappearing shortly!!

Still, when the dust settles, wish Mayo was back healthy.

correct me if i am wrong..but wasn't he pretty good against the run?
