Bedard film review: Patriots vs Jets

That's up to Rob, Deus and evidently SVN.

I'm just learning about who's ignoring whom in the last few minutes from the other posters in this thread. I had no idea about the whole thing. It's truly fascinating.

FOLKS: IT'S A FOOTBALL MESSAGEBOARD, fer cryin' out loud.

SMH and

Although I do not like Deus, I don't have him ignore. As long as he is willing debate without looking down at people and ramming his opinions down other people's throats, I would have no problem debating him.

Didn't bother me either. But posters were complaining about two separate threads on the same subject. If others would like me to, I could try to decouple it.

For the life of me, I cannot see why this is a big deal. It's a great thread and both Deus and Rob are doing a great job bringing us the info.

My only quibble is that Deus is NOT bringing us info - he signed off after his threads were deleted. I think that's a bit childish, but I can understand being frustrated if you ar ed posting on a thread and it disappears. Maybe a notification to the thread starter?

I'm not trying to make a big deal of this, but I would have liked to continue getting Deus' "translations".

No I am just a homer who was once a great poster who has fallen from grace and now is just a shameful Belichick apologist.

Well at least you admit it. :p

You have a scheduled one hour appointment with Michael Felger for sports counseling.

I agree and will ask Ian if there is a way for someone who is ignoring someone else to be able to ignore their posts but still be able to see the threads they originate.

By the way, the threads weren't deleted - - they were merely merged into this one.

In the words of the great Roseanne Rosannadanna - It's always something......

Talib over revis huh...talib has been playing very well. Revis has been very good..then eh. On and off.

Towards that end, I think Revis really only plays like the guy we thought he'd be when he gets a top-flight guy to cover. I view it as a competitive spirit type deal. Hard for a guy with his skill to give it his all every snap when he knows his 70% is good enough to cover most guys. It's why I think he'll be a stud in the playoffs.

Even with SVN on ignore and not being able to see the thread from the main board, he could have clicked on his merged thread link (his 'missing' thread, both of which are still showing) and it would have taken him to this thread with his posts. All the responses are viewable except from those he has on ignore. I'm pretty sure he knew what happened and feigned confusion because he didn't like it. Hence starting a second thread and leaving when people mentioned this one.

Ouch. Given our luck of late, Talib will be a picture of health all year.
its a little early yet for talib to be injured, he usually gets hurt in the playoffs.

Since I have nobody on ignore (as a Mod I have to be able to see all you slugs) I have no idea how that works.

I have put the question to Ian and the other Mods in the Admin Forum and hope to have it all cleared up for everybody soon.

Thanks for your patience.

When Revis has been allowed to bump and run, he's been the old Revis Island IMO.

But when he's asked to play off and he can't be as physical, he's not as effective.

It is an excellent question and would make a nice addition to the features of the board. While I agree with @pwes that in this specific case a workaround existed, the same workaround does not exist in other cases where a merge did not occur.

Right now, if you place someone on ignore, you still receive visual notification that someone you are ignoring posted to a thread and can choose to view the content if you want to. This is not the same for a thread started by an ignored poster. You have no notification that anything has been posted and no opportunity to view the content.

I think there should be 2 separate options: 1 to ignore posts from someone and another to ignore threads started by the poster. Because sometimes you only want to ignore someone's responses because they are combative or rude but not any productive threads they start and the conversation from the entire board that follows.

My 2 cents :) Great job, Shmessy!

Thanks for that idea, Haley. I'll pass it along to Ian. He's always looking to make the forum more usable for everyone, Ignorers and non-Ignorers alike! :D

I followed one of your quote alerts into this thread just now, and I saw this. So, let me explain....

I do have Rob on ignore, and I had no idea that he was posting on the Bedard stuff. I thought I was the only one doing so. Once I found out that Rob was doing it, I did take off. It was not in any childish snit, though. I had things to do, which I'd been putting off in order that someone would be bringing Bedard's stuff to the board. Once I knew someone else was doing it, I left to do the things that needed to be done. Trips to the bank and the like can be put off, but you eventually have to do them, and Bank of America isn't particularly generous with their hours of business. As a result of leaving before Bedard's 2 hours were up, I was able to make the 2 time sensitive stops I needed to, have gotten back home already, and can make the other stops after the dinner/traffic hours.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming....
