Im no biblical scholar but I think He pronounced this on Day 1. ;)

Nah! The Jets aren't important enough for God to think about until he is resting.

Idzik said the Jets did "a ton of background work" on Harvin, who has a history of altercations with teammates and coaches. Idzik, a former Seahawks executive, said his familiarity with his former team was an "advantage" as they performed due diligence.

Which the Jets did in the 15 hours after losing to the Patriots and when they announced the trade, because of course "it's not too late"

"It's about looking forward, understanding what may have happened in the past -- I wasn't there, he was," Idzik said.

Which means Idzik has no understanding of what actually happened, so what exactly did the ton of background work entail, looking at his report cards from elementary school?

OK.....I just lost it .........fell over laughing for 39 seconds and could only now get up again...........

GM John Idzik was also steadfast in emphasizing that the "Jets culture" could wind up making a difference for Percy Harvin.

[Post edit: I now see that my Uncle Rico posted on this already - - still great entertainment!]

Jets Insider preparing for a run at the play offs now that they have (brace yourselves) Percy Harvin.

The Jets off season dynasty returns week #7 with the Percy acquisition.

Dish it but can't take it I see https://vine.co/v/Oq2qqbz57W7 lmao remove this post too if ya like lol....
THAT was a flop. He was blatantly roughed out of bounds seconds before that and it should've been called. But really, your team is 1-6 and you're coming here to dish trash? You should be hiding your head (in a toilet).

"Give me your rich, your lazy, your entitled thugs yearning to earn more ..."

The strange thing is that the Jets occasionally have a well-motivated, dedicated team player. What it must be like for them to share a locker room with people like Harvin and the rest doesn't bear thinking about.

(Oh, and isn't Harvin the guy that Childress stole from under Bill Belichick's nose? I bet BB is still sore about that one.)

Good stuff on the Green Beans' mistake of trading for Headcase Harvin:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/10/18/the-financial-side-of-the-percy-harvin-trade/

... the early reaction from multiple league insiders is that the Jets made a mistake by acquiring Harvin. One league source with knowledge of and experience with both the player and his new team already has expressed pessimism, explaining that the Jets are “not a stable place.” Another source said that the Jets have “pissed away $7 million of Woody Johnson’s cash and cap space.” “Do you know how many good players that much space can get you?” the source said.

This was a move by Idzik/ryan to try and save their jobs. "oh look, I added talent!" now if the Jets end up winning 5-6 games it gives the owner hope to stick with the same crew next year.

which is only good news for us. they "could" win some games considering how weak their schedule is coming up. harvin/decker/kerly is a pretty decent WR corp. and it will give them false hope of success and take them out of the running for a top pick!

I'm sure Woody endorsed it as a means to keep fans interested and his team's name in the headlines. As I said before, this guy is Santonio Holmes II. IF he performs, he might elevate the Green Beans offense from poor to mediocre.

I'm amazed Danny Woodhead came out of there so well-adjusted.
