Bedard film review: Patriots vs Jets

This is cool. Instead of Rob and Deus posting simultaneous on the same thread with each other on ignore, we now have competing threads on the same broadcast. Progress.

LOL! The funny thing is we both hear the same thing, but our interpretation of what we hear is completely different.

BTW, I don't ignore Deus. Although I didn't see his thread. I have not left this one. I should go look at his thread and see how differently we heard things.

My guess is that Felger's not this stupid, and he's doing this for ratings/calls. I say that because you'd have to be a mouth breathing, drooling imbecile not to see the obvious differences.

One of their "Felger and Mazz Commandments" is that there are no sacred cows. But underhandedly, all that means is there's a list of players/coaches/legends who are their go-to ratings bumps. Need to spice up a slow hour? Make a slight against Brady, or Ray Bourque, or Paul Pierce, or David Ortiz, etc, and watch the switchboard light up with spit flinging rage calls (that can then be used in the final word and random sound clips forever).

Felger's central point is that a prime Brady had skills that would mitigate a lack of protection. Apparently SB42 never happened.

Back in the day, all Brady had were small quick receivers that he hit within 3 yards of the line and they ran after the catch too. Now they still have a few who can, but that isn't the offense anymore.

Not that different. But it IS pretty funny...

Chandler Jones is Bedard's #1. Six pressures. Four stuffed runs. "He was awesome". Never a fan of D'Brickishaw Ferguson.

Tom Brady #2. A lot of subtile plays. Touts the play that started this thread. "Just outstanding. Great throws vs. pressure."

I have a feeling he's going to hammer Chris Jones and Collins....

#3 Shane Vereen - Great initial catch even though Brady made it harder than it should be. Made the LB covering on the second TD spin around.

These guys rely on being professionals going up against amateurs (callers being nervous, not radio host articulate etc).

They will cut off/drop callers if they feel a point is being made against them.

Finally, I strongly suspect they let through bad callers to help diminish the strength of an opposing argument.

#1 Dud - Devey - Goes over the play that started this thread. Everything already posted here. Tuba jokes ensues.
#2 Dud - Marcus Cannon - played 6 plays and gave up two pressures.
#3 Dud - Revis - Sorta lazy doing things. Didn't turn around on a play he should.

Mazz puts Collins as his #1 dud. Bedard said he played pretty well. Mazz had Ninkovich #2 and Bedard called him crazy. The best part of the show is when Mazz shows he knows nothing about football.

Revis named as his third dud. "Another one of those games where he was just lazy doing things."

I had to step out, so I missed a bit of this.

3 up

Jones
Brady
Vereen

3 down
Devey - 6 pressures/hits/whatever
Cannon - 2 pressures in 6 plays
Revis - did not think Revis played well in this game, at all. He was just 'sort of' lazy doing things.

Will be back to both threads. Sincere thanks -- can't have too much of a good thing. :p

Ok I admit I turned it on. Nothing else on at work. Revis was a dud for him. Almost lazy he says. I could see that.

I still hope they lock him up.

Mazz actually just said something smaht: If you want to beat the Patriots, run at Collins and throw at Chung.

Felger is deliberately trolling and while his points have flaws, he's very good at drawing people into cyclical arguments and getting slippery when a legit point is made. He's, literally, a professional troll and I think he's pretty good at it.

Mazz on the other hand I think simply doesn't understand football on a fundamental level. He's a ball watcher.

These commercial bumpers are insufferable. No one cares about the rules of the flex schedule even if you package it with a pretty song.

I am going to merge the two threads

The Pats/Broncos game will not be flexed because the intent of the rule was not to have NBC to steal the best games, but protect NBC from having a crap game on Sunday night. Pittsburgh/Baltimore is a good enough game.
