I guess he will be on tomorrow. Some early observations from his feed

2 plays after being flagged for ineligible receiver downfield, Devey was in the end zone with LOS at the 10. Uh...

That's the reason Brady couldn't throw it away and instead took the -1 sack.

Devey and Kline both need to go. If not this season, then definitely next season. The New England Patriots number one offensive priority should be a couple of offensive guards in the 2015 NFL Draft.

I wouldn't mind hanging onto one of them as a deep option on the OL, but yes--it's very difficult to argue with you that the interior line shouldn't be improved upon in the offseason.

Wtf was he doing in the end zone exactly?

I am extremely frustrated with the New England Patriots offensive line play this season.

I would hope the New England Patriots would at least prioritize the offense in the 2015 NFL Draft:

1st Round - defense
2nd Round - offensive guard (Josue Matias, Florida State or Tre' Jackson, Florida State)
3rd Round - halfback (Jeremy Langford, Michigan State)
4th Round - offensive guard (Laken Tomlinson, Duke)
4th Round - halfback or outside linebacker or strong safety (depends upon unrestricted free agency)
5th Round - tight end (Clive Walford, Miami (Fla.)
6th Round - inside linebacker (Stephon Anthony, Clemson or Taiwan Jones, Michigan State)

Wtf was he doing in the end zone exactly?

He was taking the long way to the sidelines in his attempt to "pull off an Izzo."

Belichick plans for more than one year.

I believe the original plan before and during the Draft, was to get two interior linemen in this Draft; and another to replace Mankins next Draft, when the dead money CAP was more ameanable to handle.

That would result in a rebuilt young, talented, interior, to go with the previously rebuilt Tackles. The entire Offense, the skill positions, WRs, TEs, RBs would have been rebuilt; and should be together for several years.

The only oldster would be Brady, but he has years to play, and a talented, but very raw understudy to groom behind him.

Planning for more than one year isn't a sufficient excuse to **** up a unit. I'm sure the OL will come good but jesus, it's got some terrible players in there.

Did anyone hear the broadcast booth observe this on thursday ? I cant recollect.

Maybe we are looking at a real life Forrest Gump thing? (Stop, Devey, Stop)

Either he thought it was screen/swing out play, or a teammate had the ball driving toward the endzone, or he is the type of player that get's into a kind of mental beast mode where he stops thinking and just plows forward like a Yellowstone Bison (only stopped by hitting a more immovable object than himself). This would help explain his defense of Brady in a different point of the game.

Devey's young. has had very little time to advance his play on the field of play, yet has been thrust into a highly responsible role on the OL. Give him some time. There's no doubt he has played better the last two weeks than his previous outings. So maybe given 6 more weeks he will be playing increasingly better and hopefully smarter.

I do not believe that it was pointed out, SVN.

His illegal downfield call 2 plays earlier obviously was, but I do not think anyone pointed this one out. After all, I'm assuming that most figured that it was just a 1 yard sack/negative scramble attempt on Brady.

Yes, your thoughts are pretty much why I wouldn't have a problem with seeing one of Kline/Devey on the roster in 2015 as a depth position option, as bad as both have looked at times this year.

Obviously, we all want/expect to see a draft pick or two used as well.

Devey missed the call on the quick snap out of the no huddle. He's wasn't the only one to blow a play Thursday night. He's basically a rookie working on a very short week. TB has evolved with this offense for 15 years. Note TB wasn't exactly calling him out after the play.

There are better things to critique in that game.

Wait I thought it was because Brady was in decline??

Every report on Brady has stated that he is exacting and a perfectionist. He knows where everyone on the offense side is supposed to be and what they are supposed to be doing. This has been stated by a number of people and just recently LeSean Mccoy of the Eagles.

With that said, what do you think Brady's reaction will be to a guy like this? I have a feeling he may be a little harsh.

On a completely different note, anybody notice the play of Dallas? Romo's play is a direct reflection of his o-line. He literally has 5-6 seconds each play with no one around him for miles. If Brady had that, the Pats would be putting up 50+ per game.

oh well, hopefully stork and connoly are back next week and we never have to see devey on the field again
