Can I ask what the F are you watching?????
Are you that much of a fan boy that you can't see the 2014 Pats are lacking big time.

And all three teams are better than Pats at this point in time.Denver ,KC, SD and the Colts.
For the Pats to get better than all four of these teams, it will mean those 4 teams will have have to get dramatically worse....And thats the AFC. Never mind the NFC.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jesus . Thank you a voice of reason.

Get both our lines straightened out and many opinions will change on how our Patriots look. The best thing is i think our secondary is fully capable of stopping or severely limiting Denvers weapons outside.

Denver has just drafted a lot better. They've developed guys like thomas. They signed guys like knighton for cheap and he's better than our whole dl imo. Plus manning is playing out of his mind.

Realistically sd, denver, colts, green bay should be huge favorites. I'd be thrilled if the pats won two of those games. Happy with 1.

There certainly is an argument for that.

Look the whole reason I started this thread was because I was watching Manning get his ass sucked by Michaels and Collinsworth. And he sitting back with a ton of time to throw to 4 or 5 recivers that have 10 yards separation from their nearest defenders against a very good football team.
Then watch Denver defend by hurrying and sacking one of the most mobile QB's in the NFL.

Now you are either totally clueless or delusional to think the gap between the two teams in last years AFC championship hasn't widen dramatically. And for reason I'll never understand.
As a very loyal and concerned Patriot fan I wonder why Brady doesn't have weapons manning has why the defensive line and offensive lines are very average at best and horrible at worst. And why money that is available under the cap is not spent to dress at least some of these GLARING issues.

Exactley the next 6 games if they can go 4-2 I will ecstatic about it 3-3 will about right even 2-4 wouldn't surprise me.

If all these teams are so much better, whey don't posters root for another team??

Why bother rooting for this second rate team?? There are plenty of seats on other buses...

Just taking a gander at some NFL statistics... the current longest tenured coach in the NFL has the highest winning percentage of all time.. what does that say??? The most losses this team has ever had in this era was 7(since '01)... many teams would love to have 9 wins in any season. We are averaging close to 11.5 wins a season..

Never seen so many fans dissatisfied fans with this 5-2 team, spend some time talking to Minnesota or Oakland fans... they revel in a win as a glimmer of hope, while we revel in wins and playoff scenarios..

Beware of shiny beads...
But Minnesota and Oakland haven't had the best quarterback and coach in the league for a period of 10 years without a Super Bowl. that's what upsets us "knee jerk" reaction fans. Would you, and the others who criticize the "crybabies", have not traded a super bowl in 2011 for an 8-8 or 7-9 season in 2012? I've said it a million times before - Krafty Bob would rather have 4 straight afc east titles and one super bowl loss than a super bowl title, two afc east titles, and two 7-9/6-10 seasons. At some point the Pats become the Atlanta Braves or Buffalo Bills. Fans like me just say resign Asante Samuel and don't try to replace him with 12 3rd and 4th round picks, don't trade Richard Seymour, really go after Emmanuel Sanders, resign Welker. Kraft has the money/salary cap space. Belichick is so obsessed with having "quality" at the bottom of the roster I sometimes think they forsake other parts of the team.
We're dissatisfied with the current team because we don't see week to week improvement with the team. The team has played 7 games and thus far they've looked "good" for maybe 6 total quarters. They flashed the second half of Buffalo and pretty much the entire Cin game; other than that, how can anyone be impressed/satisfied with who the Pats have played? Sure, wins are wins, but is there reason for optimism? No sane thinker, looking at how the teams have played thus far, could say the Denver would not come in here against the Pats passive defense and keep the ball for 40 minutes and put up 35 points. Remember, the Patriots didn't make the NYJ punt until the second half! Don't forget, in his last 3 games vs the Patriots, Manning has lit up the the Pats - something like 850 yards, 7 tds and only 1 int. and that includes a game in which the Pats let Denver run all day and when Manning had to throw he sliced and diced the passive defense for a td to tie the game in cold windy weather. Belichick is no longer "in Manning's head." Once Polian whined to the league, Manning started shredding Belichick defenses.
We're dissatisfied with the team because they signed the best corner in the league and we thought there'd be this transformed defense, but no, it's the same old Pats defense letting Derek Carr and Geno Smith convert third down after third down, It's the same old Pats defense that cannot apply consistent pressure with a 4 man rush, it's the same old Pats defense that is afraid of mobile quarterbacks. The Pats, right now, are an average defense - #12 in total yards, #12 in points, #25 in 3d down %, #18 in opponent's time of possession...the list of mediocre and unimpressive data goes on.
The fact remains, the Pats have never really went out and spent money and signed an offensive skill player to a big contract - Moss, Welker (who was pretty much a nobody when the pats got him), and Corey Dillon were all trades and the players signed low risk, team-friendly contracts.
Personally I'm dissatisfied because I've been a Boston Sports fan all my life and two of our biggest rivals can claim they are the model franchise in their sport - the NY Yankees and Montreal Canadiens. I'm 40 years old and although I've seen four Celtics titles, there's also been some awful, bottom of the barrel basketball for the majority of the time I've been watching.
The 2007 season was the chance for all Boston sports fans to puff out their chest and say "we're the best" - and there could be no argument. I suspect many of the folks on Patsfans telling us to "appreciate" all these AFC East Titles aren't Boston sports fans - they probably live elsewhere and "picked" the Patriots as there favorite team. These folks didn't feel the sting of the Bruins losing to Chicago two years ago and to f#cking Montreal last year or the pain of the Celtics losing to LA in '10 despite bringing a 3-2 lead back to LA.
Moral of the story? Look - the Red Sox sucked this year, but they won a World Series the year before...not many Sox fans are complaining about this year...I know I'm not...

Seahawks have one bad loss.St Louis. They've beaten Denver and Green Bay both teams better than the Pats right now.
They've lost to the Cowboys and Chargers again both teams are better than the Pats.
Those 4 teams alone that seattle has played has a combined record of 21-6.
Pats have played against NFL teams with a combined 16-26.
So yes i would trade rosters with Seattle.

You are basing your "analysis" on 7 weeks of CBA era games before mid October.

Look up how the CBA rules have affected early season games.

It matters little how a team looks in September and October. How a team is set up health-wise and performance wise after T-Giving is what is most important. One would think that the past decade or so would have hammered home that reality to some.

Right now, the Patriots are 5-2 and in control of the AFC East with an OL that was the predominant worry the first 4 quarter of the season .

Since then, that OL has faced excellent DL's the past 3 weeks in a row and have stood up well to them (even when very shorthanded the past 2 weeks).

The trajectory is positive right now. They have lost two very important players and that is a concern going forward (particularly on D).

If you want to throw in the towel on the season, that is always your prerogative.

OK...........I say that my New England Patriots will finish higher than your Broncos when all is said and done this year.

$100 is the bet and the loser will donate to our resident salary cap Guru, Miguel's cause:
https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/HarryBenzan/team-mr8-boston-marathon-2014

Are we on??

First things first they are my New England Patriots too. I hate the Broncos.

If finish higher means higher seeding and or furthest to go in the playoffs you are on. By the way Broncos getting knocked off by either KC,Indy, or SD in the divisional round would not be surprise. But we are on definatley.
You will get a receipt from me if i lose too.

That's debatable......

Thomas ×2, Miller, and Clady all I can think of. Rest is free agency.

F the broncos and Manning. I'm tired of the media love fest with them. I think they are overhyped. Wait till the end of the season and playoff time, they will fall apart. Meanwhile, the Pats will catch fire towards the end and have some serious momentum and a chip on their shoulder come playoff time. We will do to everyone what the Giants did to us in 2011

People also forget that the Jets held the Broncos to 24 points on offense and the Jets have no secondary. That is three points less than the Pats scored on the Jets four days later. And the Broncos had 12 offensive drives vs. 10 for the Pats because the Pats' defense couldn't get off the field. In fact, the Broncos punted almost as many drives (8) as the Pats had drives.

So let's not go overboard on the Broncos based on last night's game. I think they hit the 49ers at the absolute right time.

Broncos-33 min TOP- 24 points
Pats- 19 min TOP- 27 points

Sigh.... What the hell am I supposed to base it on? Hope and change? I can only base it on whats there and whats been played. Are the Pats the only team that have to play under these rules? Its all relative.
Granted history says the Pats get better as the year goes. But you aren't better with Mayo out for the year. Your not better with a rookie center with concussion issues. you'r not better with a carolina practice squad player (Chico walker) at D end.
It would be nice if your 2nd year 2nd round wideout wasn't a healthy scratch to some free agent walk on.
Not only do a lot of the starters suck they have no depth. Dante Skinner going to save the day at LB?

Ironically, most of their best draft picks were done by previous regimes. Yes, Von Miller was Elway's pick, but he was a no brainer at the #4 pick overall.

Your lips to Gods ears.

Elway signed all the missing links (Talib, Sanders, Ware) to win a championship. Belichick gave up after Revis, Browner,
and LaFell, leaving massive holes at middle linebacker and pass rusher. Moreover, BB created two additional completely
unfilled holes by cutting Kelly and trading Mankins.

Look, it's obvious you are freaking out about the NFL season before Halloween.

The weather will get colder. The Fivehead will weaken.

Last year was a weather anomoly. 62 degrees for the AFCCG in late January will not happen again. This year, the Broncos had a week 4 bye - - so they have no rest the last 12 games. They also have to play 6 of their last 9 games on the road.

September and October Super Bowls count for the Dan Snyders and Marvin Lewis' of the world.

Will the Patriots win the SB this year? Who knows. They will be in the tournament and the weather will most likely be very cold then.

Seattle was unbeatable and a SB lock after week 1.
Many are ready to anoint Denver after last night.
It's a long season, and October doesn't count for much apart from the standings and injuries.
See: 2007 Patriots, 2011 Packers.

Don't forget "the best team in the NFL after week 3" the Cincinnati Bengals.

In 2001, the Pats were 5-5 before Thanksgiving.

Good idea to invest in leg brace companies from all the knee jerking going on.
