Vincent Jackson on the trade block?

He has 3 years left on his 55M/5 years deal. He's already 31 too.

Then again, i'd check him out, pending his price tag. Can you imagine Brady with Edelman, Jackson, LaFell Gronk and then Vareen?

Also, now that I think about it, IF Dobson is trully a disappointment in the Staff's eyes, they might want to deal him.

10/17ths of Vincent Jackson's 2014salary is $5,882,352.94. Vincent Jackson is probably eligible for termination pay making this salary guaranteed.
His 2015 salary is $9,777,777.
His 2016 salary is $9,777,778.

Reggie Wayne is considerably older than Jackson and looks to be doing ok. Same with Steve smith .

Trade Amendola and a 4th for Jackson.

I'd really like a LB or RB, but if Jackson can be had, he is an instant major upgrade to WR core. He would help score more points and extend drives taking a load off our injured defense.

Vincent Jackson is a beast, so make it happen. On another note, I'm starting to view the Bucs like I did the Bears back in the day. You need someone to push you over the top, just get a former Bear like Ted Washington, Keith Traylor, Colvin etc.

He is too mean, he is too expensive, Price is a deep threat!

Well replace Price with Dobson or someone, basically that was the response in 2010 when we had a chance at grabbing him.

And no, we shouldn't decide not to improve the team at WR because we need a MLB.

This.

The only exception is if acquiring a WR denies you the opportunity to improve at MLB, as it is a larger need. If no MLB is available then there is no reason to not improve the WR position if it is possible and for the right price.

Jackson is also a more logical long-term piece. Mayo, Collins, and Hightower are all productive and are under contract together until at least the end of 2015 and if Hightowers option is picked up they are together until the end of 2016.

Edelman and LaFell are the only productive locks at WR for the foreseeable future. At the rate Dobson is going he may be looking for work at seasons end, Tyms has one catch, though his sample size is very small and he is basically a rookie to this system. Amendola has shown he can be productive, but a more productive teammate on a smaller contract apparently dislikes him and will do anything to wipe out any contributions he can make, basically a 6m/year decoy right now.

So we have 3 LB's locked up for at least the next 2, and potentially 3 seasons, all 3 are productive.

We have 2 WR's locked up for the next 2 seasons together.

BB is about helping the team right now when it comes to trades, but for those asking for a player like Lavonte David, I just can't see it happening, I can't see him cutting Mayo next season, you could say that he might be BB's favorite player, the other players call him BB's son.

Jackson, or another WR, makes a whole lot more sense from BB's long-term building philosophy.

..I also don't mind another 6'5" guy, can never have enough of those "catch radius" type guys, especially one who is averaging something like 17 yards per catch over his 9+ year career.

Why do people deliberately misinterpret stuff on this board? It makes posting next to impossible. Someone says D is the biggest need but Jackson would be a big upgrade. Someone responds that WR is for fantasy fanboys and that D is the biggest need. It's silly. OK bring in Brian Orakpo and JJ Watt. satisfied?

He was also coming off at least one DUI suspension too at that point in time, in fairness to him, he hasn't earned another one since he has been in TB.

Probably won't happen but I still want Jackson

I'd trade for JJ Watt. Would Jackson be OK with sharing looks with Gronk, Vereen and at least two other receivers?

Obviously, if someone hands you a great player in trade for almost nothing, and it doesn't require a large salary commitment down the road, you might change your offensive approach, but i don't think that's likely.

If, more realistically, it will cost, the only position I would do that at would be DT.

Larry fitz or VJAX?

It's really a disappointment what we have on Dobson so far. My hope is that he is still injured because if he's not then either he regressed from what he did show as a rookie or the coaching staff are not being able to develop him because he did show enough as a rookie to keep getting his reps. Another possibility is that there are in fact non football issues. It's just weird.

I'd be reluctant on Jackson due to 1) his age, 2) needing to learn the offense and 3) he seems disinterested when I've seen him this year.

The 2 year $20M I could live with if he were a reasonable facsimile of what he was in San Diego. And I can give him a pass for being disinterested in TB, who could blame him. Is he still the same player and could be know what he's doing come playoff time ? Those would be my decision points (plus what the TB asking price is, of course).

The rumor is that VJAX could be had for a 3rd round pick. His 10m salary is nonguaranteed for 2014 and 2015.

If we traded for VJAX it would be a 1 year rental imo. I'd rather spend the cap money to extend Revis than to keep VJAX another year.

TB would be crazy to trade McCoy but if they did it would be for multiple picks, probably at least two 1st rounders.

This problematic defense would be horrendous without McCourty or a Revis/Talib CB, so I'm for using cap money on the D rather than a one year world class WR who has had zero reps to get in sync with our QB.

Doesn't make sense to me, especially if it's only for a 1 year rental.

- You need the reps/time to learn this offense, it has been proven. VJax is no lock to come in and be good
- We need to use the cap money for the D
- Doesn't make sense to give up a 3rd rounder for a 1 year rental
- He will cut into Dobsons development, I'm not giving up on the kid just yet. This isn't very good especially since hes no lock to stay beyond the 1 year.

Gerald McCoy is a free agent at the end of the year. Pretty good player who praised the Pats when we scrimmaged them.

Pretty good player might be a bit of an understatement. He's probably the best DT in the league.

We're by no means set at WR, but if this team is looking to spend assets to upgrade at the deadline, I would rather those assets be spent on an impact defender. The Pats should just start throwing picks at Tampa to see what will pry McCoy loose.
