@RapSheet: Who else could be traded? I’m told #Bucs are getting tons of calls on WR Vincent Jackson. TB loves him as a player, but considers everything

Thoughts?

If the Bucs are considering everything, we need to be calling them up about Lavonte David and Mason Foster. I am allowed to dream, right?

Gerald McCoy is a free agent at the end of the year. Pretty good player who praised the Pats when we scrimmaged them.

So much talent on that defense... Mark Barron, Dashon Goldson, Michael Bennett.

But why would the Bucs trade away one of their young key pieces on defense? You might be joking. But it's hard to tell here. I've seen a lot of people who seem to think that every one on bad teams are tradeable for pennies on the dollar.

Could be cap related. They wasted a ton of money on Alterraun Verner. Also, McCoy is one of the (if not the) best DTs in the NFL and the Bucs leadership seems excellent at screwing up personnel decisions.

I would normally say sign the beast but it would probably take him three years to learn the offense. Meanwhile the defense won't be able to get off the filed against good teams. I would much prefer a stout DLineman

Spiller could also be on the block

Please commit this to memory and repeat it out loud. We do not need more receivers. Its one of the deepest positions on the team. DT or LB, however is another story. Getting McCoy would be a HUGE get for the Pats though I don't know how it could happen.

Bottom line, the Pats have proven in the past that they aren't afraid to pull the trigger on a mid-season trade. I don't expect it, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised, But if it does happen, I'd be shocked if was for anything else by a defensive lineman or LB

No thanks on Spiller but Belichick once rated Jackson as the best WR in the league. I'd love to see him here. Edelman in the slot, Jackson and Lafell on the outside. Gronk and one RB. Replaces Amendola.

I don't think WR is deep at all. When you've been playing Tyms and Amendola on the outside as your #2 and #3, that means you're weak at WR, especially when Lafell is your #1. As for Edelman, he's a slot receiver, best in the league.

I don't think they will trade him. But, he's a free-agent and may want out. He ripped them after last blowout. They could tag him. But, may not want an un-happy tagged player around.

D-lineman with excellent RUN stuffing skills, wanted. Please contact Bill Belichick.

No doubt we'd all love an impact defender over a WR.

But if you really think the Patriots are set, check out who we play next. Alshon Jeffrey and Brandon Marshall are both better than our #1 Lafell. And yes we have Edelman and Gronkowski. The Bears though throw to Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte so they'll attack you there too.

So if he can block or tackle then pull the trigger! Otherwise...NO

We obviously don't need to tie up all our money on a receiver when we have lots right now. DT, on the other hand is a position where we need to hit on a replacement for Vince, or all our work with journeyman types like Chris J and Siliga, as well as our pick of Easley will be a waste IMO. Don't see how we're getting a top ten pick (McCoy was #3 overall) So, the next big item could be a FA DT, if he's really attainable.

You might be able to use 8 receivers in fantasy football, I don't know.

The receivers don't play against each other. Those guys will be playing against Revis, Browner, Dennard McCourty and the rest.

Fantasy boyz are all about WRs.
They forget that points are a strong function of OL and DL 7 where we're deficient.

Anyone saying this team is set at WR needs to be drug tested immediately. Furthermore, you help yourself where you can. If trading for Jackson would be more help than trading for someone at another position, you take the WR.

That being said...

If Tampa really is getting a lot of calls on Jackson, his price will probably be higher that BB is willing to pay.

Agreed. It's the domino effect as well. Edelman/Lafell are huge upgrades in the slot over Amendola.
