Seattle Seahawks trade WR Percy Harvin to the Jets

Yeah , letsact like Randy Moss. Albert Haynesworth, Darrelle Revis, Ochocinco never happened.
Revis wasn't a head case. Those guys didn't get in fights with teammates and their QBs did they, LIKE HARVIN. reading comprehension fails with you spo

Belichick had drafted, traded for, and signed bigger head cases than Percy Harvin, so I'm not sure how you're reaching that conclusion.

I classify someone that openly wants to fight teammates and does fight them as a much bigger head case, then a druggy like talib. Moss was a guy that could, and did get turned around by a winning team for awhile, before he reverted back to himself.

HARVIN is much more deadly in bringing down a team then a talib guy imo.

Steve Smith is famous for fighting his teammates. BB wanted to bring him in this year. And teammates going at it with teammates happens all the time.

It would have been a great move at the start of the season. But at 1-6 I can only call this a "good move" in terms of football. PR wise this is genius.

I understand that some folks think that football starts and ends with this season.

The jets just drafted Harvin with a 5th round draft choice (well really 4th to 6th). Why is this not a good football decision, as well as a good PR decision? They will be able to try him out for the rest of the season. If he doesn't work out, then they will pick up another WR next year.

Where am I saying this is not a good decision? I explicitly said it is good and would have been great in the offseason/earlier in the season.

I totally agree with what you have said.

What's wrong with Revis? Never heard of the slightest character problems with him, other than wanting to get paid, which he has in common with Ty Law.

:)

And do we need to dig up all the comments about Law's character because he wanted to get paid?

My bad; I misread. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

No. My point was exactly that wanting to get paid is not a reflection on character.

I certainly agree. I was just pointing out that lots of patriot fans disagree. Heck, fans may even consider it a character fault if Revis wants $15M a year to extend his contract.

Belichick drafted Hernandez and signed haynesworth. Again, the point just doesn't hold up

This is true, but Steve Smith is also a guy I'd be much more willing to put up with because he is fiercely loyal and fiercely intense. He plays through almost anything and plays each play as if his very life depends on it. Percy is more of the classic prima donna, always hurt, doesn't block, pouts. He's an excellent talent, but his overall package makes him much more volatile than someone like Smith or Edelman (who loves to fight in training camp) in my opinion.

I cannot imagine a scenario where Smith or Edelman would take themselves out of a game that they were healthy enough to play in. Smith is next level crazy though---he broke Ken Lucas' nose in training camp because he was offended that he had gotteb a nose job. Thought it wasn't manly or something, committed essentially a hate crime. I would still take him over Harvin without blinking.

I see Harvins potential as a threat but the guy just disappears for periods of time. No doubt he's talented and will help the Jets run some type of wishbone with Geno and Ivory. They had the cap room and they made the deal. I just think they could of used their money on someone like Revis or Bryant who would have had a much bigger impact.

When I think of Harvin the first thing that comes to mind is he is a dual threat. The 2nd thing is he is one of the most injury prone players in the game. You can roll off all the stats you like to counter that point, but it won't change my mind.

Anyone saying he Jets aren't a more talented team because of the trade are delusional. But they are also taking a big risk with him being injury prone and playing roulette with their salary cap.

Belichick suckered Ryan Thursday Nite; and Petey suckered Idzik the next morning.

The Jets are the proud owners of RAS_I, and the even more often injured Percy (headcase) Harvin.

Way to Go !!!!

12 actual pages on this?

Really?

All in all, this move is great for us.

Harvin gives them a legit elite talent and will no doubt help win them enough games but also help them miss out on a top 3 pick.

No shot at a franchise QB. Win for us.

And Harvin will act up sooner or later in that circus locker room and beat up a few guys. He won't make it past 2 years. Another win for us.

To recap, this trade will probably prevent the Jets from getting a franchise QB next draft, screw up Geno Smith and beat up other guys, and ultimately set that franchise back another 5 years.

Then he gets cut, will be on his "last chance in the NFL so I'm gonna be mature now" behavior. And will look for a team that has a strong locker room and will be able to maximize his talent.

Welcome to the Patriots!

This is BB using inception on Idzik and Rex.

Revis as a locker room cancer is bitter Jet fan nonsense and always has been.

Revis was the #1 cornerback in the NFL and he was like the 8th lowest paid DB, no, not in the NFL, but on the New York freaking JETS. Yes, like 7 DB's were getting paid more than Revis on the Jets at the time of his hold out IIRC.

Can anyone blame him for wanting a pay check?

The break down in relationship between Revis and the Jets FO was entirely on the Jets FO.
