Seattle Seahawks trade WR Percy Harvin to the Jets

6-10 here they come.

There's no Rex in TEAM. Pass.
I think he's a terrific defensive coach, but degree of jackassery ( my very gown word) outweighs his coaching talents. No thanks. Oakland is a good spot for him. He looks just like one of their ***hole fans...

Harvin could light it up in a Jets offense that's comatose most of time. Kicking FGs is the road to losing in the NFL unless youre playing in a monsoon. Harvin could bring TDs in the passing game and KOs that the Jets desperately need.

Ya that's not gonna happen.

If the patriots had a greater need (perhaps if LaFell had not looked so good), I could see the patriots making this trade.

Would the jets be likely get a better WR for a 2nd round draft choice?

Why would bb trade for a head case like harvin?

Belichick wants to win. Belichick has taken players that were considered head cases in the past. In any case, the patriot locker room has transformed players. When Seattle traded for him, I think some were considering the possibility of the patriots as a team Harvin might go to.

We are not discussing a drug risk or an abuser. We are talking about a player who has gotten into fights, and who has been a discipline problem.

I am just saying that the patriots would have considered such a deal if our situation were a bit different. To put it another way, if Harvin were a free agent after the 2014 season, the patriots would be considered a potential place for Harvin to play. TO BE CLEAR, I don't think that the patriots would spend what others would spend for Harvin, so it won't happen.

Ya no way in hell was Belichick ever trading for Harvin under any circumstance

Hasn't bill showed interest in Harbin when he was in Minnesota? When the Jests cut him and he's not so pricey, I wouldn't be shocked to see him brought in.

Until we find a guy who's a bigger POS than Albert Haynesworth, let's just skip the whole "BB would never trade for that guy, because of his character" routine, since we all know it's not necessarily true.

When did I say it was about character?

Rob, I think he was talking about Harvin having I believe 3 TD's called back because of penalties. That was a strange thing.

On to Harvin. The kid as talent, no question. And I do think he makes the Jets a better team, but they're already 1-6, with little room for error. This move makes no sense. He burned serious bridges in Minnesota, a big reason for it was actually when the Pats gave Hernandez his extension.

Anyways Harvin is a serious headcase. It could make for a great end to sexy rexy's run in NY.

And the one big play that he made this year should clearly have been called back: ftw.usatoday.com/2014/09/percy-harvin-out-of-bounds-nfl-replay-officials-seattle-seahawks

That cuts both ways, and I'd say his luck has evened out.

I still refuse to believe Brad Childress's claim that he needled BB's interest out of Harvin (b/c I refuse to believe that BB would tell Harvin that knowing he would be visiting MIN later).

I was okay with this move for the jets when the price was reported to be a fourth rounder that could increase to a 2. Now that Ian rapaport is reporting that it's a 6 that can increase to a 4, I really like this move for them.

This is exactly the kind of low risk high reward deal that we love when Belichick makes it. If he doesn't pan out--which I think is the most likely outcome--they can dump him at the end of the season with no dead money and out nothing more than a sixth rounder. If it does work out their ceiling on offense goes up considerably.

This, absolutely. Their season is already shot to hell, so failure doesn't really matter. If he works out, though, it's a huge win for the Jets.

Belichick had drafted, traded for, and signed bigger head cases than Percy Harvin, so I'm not sure how you're reaching that conclusion.

Did someone just call Darrelle Revis a head case? You're crazy man.

We also win a bit with this move. Anything that might give the Jets an Edge over Buffalo and Miami benefits us. Furthermore, keeping them away from drafting around the top is helps immensly long term.

It would have been a great move at the start of the season. But at 1-6 I can only call this a "good move" in terms of football. PR wise this is genius.
