Seattle Seahawks trade WR Percy Harvin to the Jets

A SIMPLE QUESTION

Would a healthy Harvin helped the jets against us last night?

gee, I can't answer that...but I can say with certainty that a healthy Harvin was a DNP for the world champion Seahawks for a reason. If Russell Wilson can't use him then I think it's reasonable to assume the 32 nd ranked QB in the league wouldn't do much better.

Awful trade, the jets are pathetic

honestly, the best thing the Jets could do this season is, assume their mediocrity and suckage, tank the season and draft damn Winston or Mariota.

Instead, what they are gonna do, with or without Harvin, win a few more games, enough to push them out of the top 5 and still enough to keep them mediocre.

They don't need to bring Harvin to assess whether Geno is a franchise qb or not. HES NOT, it's pretty clear by now, he has a good arm of course but he can't read **** and is a mental midget, he panics in the field every time something goes wrong.

If you are playing in a division against Brady for a few more years and after a promising gsropollo, you need more than that.

He has played in every game this year for the Seahawks, with the following stats:

RUSH---11 rushes for 92 yards and 1 touchdown

PASS---22 catches (although only 136 yards, which was his problem--the low YPC)

We all know the talent that Harvin possesses, so yes--I definitely think it's reasonable to assume that his presence alone, whether decoy or otherwise, would have benefited them. It obviously wouldn't have hurt them to replace a guy like Kerley.

Good Lord, man! What a devious idea! Drafting Winston would be in keeping with the JEST consistentely bad QB drafts. He' another loose cannon and head case, another super-ego who thinks the rules don't apply to him, because, well SHUTUP! Mariota has been a good QB, but I'm not certain he's ready for the NYC media shark fest.

So, hopefully, the JEST find a way to draft Winston, unless he's in jail sharing a floor with the prisoner. Winston, I must admit, does have, currently, enough baggage to make himself a typical JEST draft pick. Hadn't thought of it before, but man, he'd be perfect to come in and further rattle Geno's cage. I love it. :D

I haven't seen much of Seattle this year, but I did see their game against the Skins, and Percy dominated in that game. Odd Seattle would dump him like this. He must have been a real head case.

Percy is incredibly fast but he actually does not fit in Seattle's offense. They seem to run the same 2-3 plays whenever he is on the field and the league may be catching up with that.

Actually Russell Wilson dominated the Redskins. I started a thread that day comparing him to a cat. :)

Ya none of that counted.

Yeah, his contract was structured so that he had $14.5M guaranteed, but $12.5M of that was a signing bonus that the Seahawks already paid. He also had his 2014 salary guaranteed pretty early in the contract (this is where the $25M guaranteed number came from), but the Seahawks already paid a lot of that, and the Jets were going to pay the rest whether it was guaranteed or not. The Seahawks now have to take the accelerated signing bonus cap hit on this year's cap--the same as if they'd cut him, basically--and the end result for the Jets is that he isn't guaranteed anything past the end of this season.

So a front office (gm/ownership driven) move to drum up publicity and sales when the team is in the gutter. Rex is toast.

Rex isn't the gm and the leadership is done with his ass. A "defensive mastermind" lost a game after his offense ran for two hundred+ yards, had the ball for forty minutes, and did not turn it over.

Unfortunately for us, his big titties will be DC somewhere in the NFC next year.

The truth be told I have a grand on that dog being the more intelligent photographed mammal.

Seriously though, that sloven imbecile had lap band surgery and still has bigger tits than Giselle.

No harm meant Mrs. Brady...give Tom a break on the toilets, that leg needs some rest...

Harvin had four catches for 27 yards and two rushes for 7 yards against the Skins. You have a very liberal definition of dominating a game. He has sucked this year.

Take away his longest catch of 33 yards
21 rec
100 yards
4.76 ypc

Marshawn Lynch has been a better option at receiver than he has this year.

The way Harvin has played this year, he makes the Pats dink and dunk offense of 2001 look like a vertical offense.

Rob, I think he was talking about Harvin having I believe 3 TD's called back because of penalties. That was a strange thing.

On to Harvin. The kid as talent, no question. And I do think he makes the Jets a better team, but they're already 1-6, with little room for error. This move makes no sense. He burned serious bridges in Minnesota, a big reason for it was actually when the Pats gave Hernandez his extension.

Anyways Harvin is a serious headcase. It could make for a great end to sexy rexy's run in NY.

Apparently stuff coming out now about how bad of a cancer Harvin was at Seattle. Got into a bunch of altercations with teammates, including punching and giving Golden Tate a black eye during SB week, and almost coming to blows with Russell Wilson this year....

Apparently he still has some support with guys like Avril and Lynch, according to some of their tweets...

The trade could help the Jets and the risk is pretty limited. He's a dynamic player who now has a chance to get a lot more touches than he did in Seattle. I wouldn't be keen on defending against him in one of Marty Mornhinweg's schemes. He could stack with Decker, wildcat, jet sweep, etc.

Then again he's a nut job who gets hurt. What better place is there for a nut job to play than the Jests?

This move bums me out. Honestly, his drafting has been about as bad as ours but Idzik's taken them out of cap hell and seems like he's going to build the team similar to how Belichick does. I'd much rather he run the team into the ground like Ireland or Tannenbaum.

This is a low risk move that is pretty much exactly the same as the Moss or Talib trades we've done. If Harvin doesn't pan out for them this year then they cut him with no future cap hit.

Are the details on the conditional pick out?

I'm sure Rex will coach him up and get Harvin to control his temper.

Harvin really does seem like a perfect fit for the Jets.

Oh baby, a prima donna with anger management and having an immature, bad qb throwing to him, where's my popcorn because this will be comedy.

PFT is now reporting that Harvin has had fights with at least two teammates, gave one a black eye, the other a cut on the chin, and REFUSED to go back in the game on Sunday!!!

LOL, most teams would just cut a guy like that, the Seahawks will get a 2nd rounder (which we all know is going to be at the top of the second round), for him! What a steal!

I'm sure if he was a malcontent on a Superbowl winning club, he will be just a great teammate and leader with the Jests!!!
