Chris Ivory is a beast he is staying healthy and is making New Orleans look like morons for trading this beast. Best roster move the Jets had made in years.
That being said what back out there buried on a depth chart or languishing on someones practice squad can we bring in to bring a aggressive rushing attack.
Rushing and stopping the run has been our biggest weakness to date.
So let's come up with some possibilities and some hypotheticals.
Let's start out with the pipedream
Marshawn Lynch isn't happy with his contract and the Hawks really like Turbin .
More realistic would we cough up a fourth to the Bills for the dynamic Spiller? I would.
The Raiders are stripping that team down how about putting In a call about McFadden.
San Francisco's Frank Gore they are rumored to want to go young and are done with him why not let him turn on and try to go out on top with a playoff and Superbowl push.
Call KC and offer up for one of their backs.
Atlanta A aging Steven Jackson just to push the pile.
St Louis Zac Stacy has been fallen out of favor and they went with backs early in the draft I would at least make the call to see if he is available.
Packers might be willing to part with Starks.
Washington I would call about Helu he always makes a positive play when his number is called.
Cleveland has a plethora of backs I would call them about one of there backs.
What say you do we make a play off push with Bolden and Gray as the bruisers or do we look for outside assistance?

I would stay put at RB and give Gray a shot. He ran well last night, just didn't get enough touches. Vereen ran much better last night than before, no more jump cuts at the line of scrimmage.

I think we need to give Gray a chance. I liked how he ran when given the opportunity. had 4ypc yesterday

Unless for some reason, Pittsburg will give up on Blount. I would trade maybe a 7th to get him back. He already knows the offense and was amazing last year late in the season.

also another interior defensive lineman. god damn wilfork was terrible but i'm willing to give him a break. two games in 4 games in 4 days must be tough.

I'm confused about all of this "Wilfork/Walker/Chris Jones are terrible" talk. It wasn't like we were getting gashed up the middle all game. The Jets just copy-pasted the Chiefs and ran right at Chandler Jones and Jamie Collins. Rob Ninkovich is the only player on this team capable of setting the edge, and he had a couple bad moments last night, too.

As far as our rushing offense goes last night, the Jets left it there for the taking and we decided to throw the ball instead. Arrogance by McDaniels if you ask me.

I still think we need a back that can get the tough yards and tire out a defense Vareen is not a bruiser or have great acceleration he's a quick twitch guy who can get some cheap to decent yards but isn't breaking a big run play or carrying defenders on his back.
He is paramount to the passing game where he more than excels. But I don't want to be the guy when we need to close out a game.
Gray is a bigger back but doesn't run very confident or decisive maybe this will develop but he also doesn't have a second gear or a quick twitch he's 3 or 4 yards and a cloud of dust.
Bolden is a enigma because there's been times where he looks quick and mean and looks like a playmaker then theres plays where he looks tentative and can't find a hole if our offensive line makes him one.
There has to be a way to upgrade the position cheaply to find a guy who can run with power as well as speed.
I'll say it again the Jets to do a awful loy wrong but Ivory and Giacomni I think his name is the offensive lineman players like that would make this offense unstoppable with that kind of run game.
If the next regime let's Ivory walk over cash we need to pounce but again I think we should look for some speed Spiller, or some power at the position Crowell from the Browns to give this run game some teeth.

Of your list of "bruising" backs, I have bolded all of the Backs that are very much so NOT bruisers.

Wilfork is a big bodied old DT. He is a guy that needs 7 days between games to be effective. Not surprised he wasn't.

Is anyone familiar with Jonas Grays game and tell me who he compares to in the NFL?
I didnt get to watch many Notre Dame games.
He wasn't a guy I followed much prior to the draft.

I mentioned Bruisers or extra Speed guys I think either element would boost our run game as I had mentioned.

We barely used Gray and when we did he looked good in my opinion anyways

I would say the one guy i would think about getting is MJD from the Raiders. His salary isn't that high, he can block and is a good veteran to have. I see a Corey Dillon type of impact for us.

We have Gray and White.

I think Gray will be fine ... he also seems strong enough to pass block which is key.
We don't need a RB who breaks long ones ... moving the chains is good enough.
Anyone but Bolden is fine with me ... he's lost strength since he got caught ... he's still no better than a #4 IMO.

:)
Bolden is our #4. He is only active because of his special teams play.
