Amendola

I like that Brady pointed out there was nothing from Marshall.

Best moment of the interview in my opinion.

EDIT - What I really like is that there are so many little subtle things Brady and BB do that only New England fans pick up. Everyone else can have their opinion, but the some of their awesomeness is still our well kept secret.

Wait, what did he point out about Marshall?

Great game, I hope this boost his confidence, I don't care about yards, neither do Bill I believe, what is important is just this, move the chains and score TD's, and Brady now has tossed TD's to a lot of different receivers this season.

Amendola may have been struggling the first weeks due to his off-season surgery to fix the groin injury from last year, people here didn't like that he's had that surgery but for me in a injury like that, I was afraid of him not having the surgery and pulling that groin again this year. A surgery in this case is the much safer route.

I hope this leads to amendola having more confidence and leading to better games. kind of impressive this year tha brady has thrown touchdowns to

edelman, gronkowski, lafell, vereen, amendla, wright, tyms.

thats seven different players with at least a touchdown catch. brady's back to spreading the ball around like the old days (or 2010)

Looks like Amendola has recovered from his off season injury. He did a great job on the kick off's and hopefully gained some much needed confidence. I hope he has a great 2nd half of the seaon

I think it's time to forget about his contract and past injuries, and look at this game as what we have in DA, which is a pretty good weapon. The KO returns were a revelation, the recovery a godsend, and the TD catch the work of a seasoned pro.

Marshall Faulk didn't really need to put a gift in the bag. Super Bowl XXXVI is a gift that keeps on giving.

Nice exchange between Tom Brady and Marshall Faulk about Kevin Faulk (your avatar) mentioning him as a special player.

Bill Belichck: "Nobody works harder than Danny. Offense. Scout team. Special teams. He's a real competitive kid. Tough."

Hope he stays as the KO returner

He looked pretty good there, he played like he had something to prove, which was good.

Amendola is still gone after this year. Simply is not worth the money. For this year however I think he finally found a niche to contribute. I think as a KR he has value and should stay there. If he does it justifies him being the 4th WR over Dobson.

I don't expect this to be a jumping point for him turning into a 3-4 catch guy a game. He will get his 1-3 targets mostly likely which has been SOP for the team this year. It be nice if they stopped getting called back though. He should have about 10 catches.

Great game by him last night. That 19 yard TD was the only play that could be made and he made it. I'm also pretty sure he leads the league in yards called back by penalties not related to him.

Plus he caused an important defensive PI call that put us in position to score again. Considering that, the returns, the TD catch and that he came up with the onside kick, I would say he won the game for us not just contributed to the win.

I will give it up for Danny Boy he did a good job returning kicks, the touchdown catch was terrific, he drew a big pass interference call, and sealed the deal recovering the onside kick. Last night was a solid showing by Amendola.

That all acknowledged and appreciated, he had 1 catch on 3 targets so associating his performance with the word great is an overstatement. The catch was impressive, but catching the football has never been a problem for Amendola so I am not surprised by that, his problem is his inability to get open, which was still very apparent on the touchdown pass, Brady threw the ball where only he could make a play and he made a terrific play adjusting to it. I am not trying to rain on his parade but my expectations for the WR who was paid more than any WR other than Randy Moss and Wes Welker in Belichick’s tenure is not referring to a 1 catch performance as great, no matter how impressive that 1 catch was.

I am happy for Amendola that he did something positive, as much as I dislike him as a player and the signing of him I think he is a stand up human who appears to work hard and really care. I appreciate that as a fan. I just have a hard time being overjoyed with a receiver who is on pace for 11 catches and 96 yards this season.

I'll tell you one thing. I bet Danny boy would have caught the Welker drop in the super bowl.
Ok now you are just getting carried away Welker had more catches and yards in that Super Bowl than Amendola has this season. I can understand being happy with Amendola last night, but to sit here and now try and suggest he would do anything better than Welker is silly given he has 5 catches in 42 yards in 7 games this season, which would have been a poor game for Welker during his tenure here.

im not really concerned about amendolas contract..I dont pay the checks, Kraft does. Let him worry about that.

if he can finally find a role and help us win games a kick returner and occasionally catching a few balls this year I am fine with that.

Danny is healthy and is our #3 WR and KR. We needed someone to step up in both positions.

BTW, Belichick will decide after the season how much a #3 back is worth. Obviously, there may be negotiations with DA. It is NOT clear that he is worth more to other teams than he is to the patriots. Belichick may become very comfortable with this set of 3 receivers plus Tyms and Dobson as the backups for 2014 and 2015.

As several experts have opined, Amendola is not seeing targets due to Edelman having completely taken over the role for which he was signed.

The knock being, that he doesn't shine on the outside in part due to his injury, but mostly because this is something he's just not been that good at.

These experts believe that Amendola would take over Edelman's role without much if any drop off in production. They state the belief that he was brought here to be Welker's replacement and that Edelman staying healthy and taking a strong step forward was a surprise that has relegated Amendola to a role that he isnt suited for.

And I have to say, when put into Edelman's role last night after some very uncharacteristic drops from Edelman, Amendola in fact did step up.
