Well we may not have found a Franchise QB yet hopefully we can find on in FA or draft, but at least we found a servicable back-up for the next few years as long as he moves in the pocket.

hoyer- starter
smith- back-up

and we wouldn't need vick or simms.

If Hoyer is as smart as we believe he is, they would have to give him Tom Brady money to get him to sign there.

Rex in a very emotional speech to his team after this almost win:

"We had more first downs, we had more time of possession, we had fewer penalties, we had more field goals, we had more rushing yards.... we almost won.... stats are for winners, wins and losses are for losers."

As the team cheered him wildly... vowing to carry him on their shoulders if they continue to almost win.

Quinton Coples looks to be another first round bust for the Jets. Was a back up and played a handful of plays and got a whopping one tackle.

Good thing the Jets didn't get Chandler Jones. Imagine how good he would be on that defense when he has Mo Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson drawing away a lot of the attention and double teams and Rex would just unleash him to rush the passer on every play.

Do you think Chandler would be a good fit in a Ryan 3-4? Do you think he would have to bulk up for that role? That is sorta mitigated by today's prevalence of the nickle, but for the Pats, he is a 4 down player and can excel at a variety of roles.

As an OLB which they are trying unsuccessfully to make Coples (he is too big and slow for their defense) into? Absolutely. I think Chandler Jones has been a very good pass rusher at OLB in the 3-4 here and struggles when they kick him inside.

Jones would be a stud in the Jets defense. He would be a stud here if they they had at least one more d-lineman that teams worried about.

The overwhelming theme today is that rex ryan is a great coach and he doesnt deserve to be fired. From WFAN to Peter King everyone loves Rex.
He is a great D coord, but they miss the key situations where as a head coach he has failed- timeouts, onsidekick, not having a say to run the ball on the 2 pt conversion etc etc.
