The Patriots vs Jets POST Game Thread

Great game!!I'm not worried about the defense either,we just lost our defense captain just 4days ago.

Not happy with this at all. I'm not buying the "it was only a 4 day week" excuse either. It was 4 days for the Jets as well. And I'm sure an extra 3 days wouldn't have made that garbage game planning on D any better. The basics of it would've been the same.

Again, it's so frustrating to watch and the coaches should be embarrassed with the terrible defense they're putting on the field considering the elite talent on all 3 tiers of that defense.
You can believe what you want to believe. Was the defensieve game plan good ? No. Did they play scared .Yes. But losing mayo is a big deal on a short week. People underestimate his value.

Wow...lots of burping butterflies and farting rainbows after ONE OF THE WORST IF NOT THE WORST offense/qb went up and down the field at will and gashed the pats...last week's good feelings should be tempered after this game... they gotta do soemthing with this defense or it'll be the same ending as the last 10 years....

Yeah, sorry people are excited about beating a division rival on a short week after losing two important starters.

Thursday Night football after season ending injuries to two key players. Ten days to figure it out. On to Chicago!

So the pats have barely escaped against two of the worst teams in the nfl....AT HOME! not an encouraging defensive performance...
Sort of like the way Denver kind of barely escaped last week.

My favorite part of Thursday Night Football was when the Patriots abandoned almost everything that had worked well these past two weeks and still managed to win because the Jets are the Jets.

Yes, McDaniels reverted again. I'm sorry, but he needs to get slapped upside the head by Belichick.

I didn't notice Slater out there tonight. My guess is he was wearing a Amendola skin suit.

That is a strategy that McDaniels seems to love - - abandon the run. It does not work. Look at what happens when they do that - - Miami game, Oakland game, KC game and NYJ game. And don't anyone try the "well that's what teams do when they are trying to come from behind in a game" because in 3 of 4 of those games they were ahead at the half.
The Jets have one of the best run defenses in the NFL and the Pats nearly put up 30 on them almost exlusively through the air. And yet you think they should have run more?

What did everyone expect on defense after loosing Mayo on a short week. You are talking about a player who has been reported multiple times to have complete autonomy on changing the calls and relentlessly studies film. He literally is the Tom Brady of the defense in terms of experience and just knowing what to do. Now on a short week take him out and add a player than 3-4 days ago had no idea he was going to have to step into that role and is not that experienced. On a full week, I would expect better, but the second Mayo went down this changed to becoming a game of survival so they can take the longer week and work out the plans for the future.

Also add in that neither of the other two existing starting LBs looked 100%, especially Hightower, but that is somewhat on BB the GM.

Dude, Brady was great tonight. Lots of drops from the guys that normally don't drop passes!

Sort of like the way Denver kind of barely escaped last week.

To the tune of 31-17? I don't know if I'd call that escaping with a win.
Tonight's game though....

LOL @ people complaining over a win. Not every game is going to be a blowout, it's a wonder why I rarely visit these boards

I thought Brady had a great game. He was really accurate, its just his receivers dropped a lot of balls and the Jets D were getting push up the middle. In general the rule of thumb on Brady is if you can flush him out of the pocket, you have a chance. THe Jets did that, and he still torched them.

The lack of a run game was a big problem of course.

The lack of a pass rush was another big problem. Ninkovich had a terrible game, as did Wilfork and they were thoroughly gashed in most phases. We need Siliga back something awful, and we might need to look into bringing in a run stuffing LB.

anyone who can't be okay with barely beating a division opponent: the Chargers barely beat the raiders this past week. The 49ers failed to beat the Rams last year. It happens, that's how division games tend to go.

Spread/expectations be damned, I will always take a close divisional win with no injuries.

I love Willie and I miss him so much. Just seeing how proud he still is when they do on the post game show is amazing.

Beating the jills and the jests in one week is a solid week however it gets done.

By the way Felger and Mazz can shove it and stop being divas about the "special Revis play" and to the jets: karma is a ***** you POS! Way to go Jones!

I'll never understand people who feel the need to wallow in misery after a close victory. Not every game is going to be a blow out and not every close game means that there are glaring issues spelling doom for our entire season.

Christ I mean, can't you people even wait until the next morning to start listing out all the problems?
