That game was sickening

Embarrassing, pathetic, call it what you want

The coaching staff should be ashamed of what they're putting together with all that talent on defense

The playcalling on offense is extremely questionable as well

Dont care. Win is a win. Short week. lot of injuries. We are 5-2 . We will figure out our issues.

Short week, we escaped with a win. We know we can play better than this and we have to. I'll take the win.

I agree the offensive play calling was awful. What was McDaniels calling all those plays designed to drop the ball when they hit the receiver in the hands. Doesn't he know that a play is more successful if they actually catch the ball.

I counted at least 8 dropped balls tonight (Gronk with 3, Edelman with two, Vereen with 2, LaFell with one). How is that on McDaniels?

Sometimes I feel like I'm posting with a bunch of millenials or something. Don't you people remember when we were **** and would still give our division rivals a good game?

Division rivalries are a real thing. People who expected this game to be a slam dunk aren't exactly students of history.

Don't post often, but thought enough of this thread to say GFY

That was a simple matter of survival on a short week with injuries against a division foe fighting for its life, and avoiding further attrition. I don't care how ugly it was.

Yes, it was messy, yet we got the W.

Not only a short week, but also playing 4 games in 18 days and losing Ridley and Mayo on top of that. That's a lot for any team to handle.

I'll take the win.

But the loss of Ridley and Mayo look a lot bigger than they did before this game. I assume they will adjust.

It was sickening but any time you can play that bad and still win the game that means something.

Ridiculous you guys are making excuses for that defensive strategy.

Short week or not, you don't play essentially a base defense of 2 LBs and 5 DBs against Geno Smith, the worst QB in the league, and invite the Jets to run.

That is just so stupid and illogical.

This should be reiterated over and over again.

Think about it:
  • Mayo and Ridley just went down 5 days ago. Trying to game plan without them in it is hard enough, let alone on a really short week.
  • A win is a win is a win. 2-1 in the division. 5-2 overall.
  • A nice mini-bye now before Chicago comes to town. I'm confident BB will be able to fix the problems from tonight.

Quite Jeckly and Hyde performance from the D from last week to this Thursday but I'll take the win any day.

I hate rushing 3 in prevent. You would figure since 1984 teams would figure out that **** don't work.

Don't give a ****. We beat the Jets that's all I care about. Check back after the mini bye

Sickening, whatever. We knew this was going to be a hard-fought game. Short week. We just lost the heart of our defense. We picked up guys at the local Rotary Club to start on the offensive line. The only thing that matters is that they made plays when it counted. Amendola was clutch. This is a big win for the team moving forward.

I would have liked a 30 point win, but I'll take a 2 point victory in a divisional game.

Two division wins in 4 days, I don't care how ugly it was I'll take it.

The defensive gameplan, with the exception of most of the third quarter and parts of the fourth, was way too soft. On offense, they were entirely too conservative at the end. If they lost, that would have been on the coaching staff.

Anyone who calls any win pathetic is pathetic themselves and hasn't participated in competitive sports in this decade. Great win. Patriots match on with another win in the division. Keep it going Pats!!!

Can Mods flick this thread over to the practice squad? Thanks
