We're On To The 1-5 New York Jets

Just get up on them early and the NYJ hopes of win will dwindle and they'll play like the losers they are. Don't give them hope like NE did OAK.

The Jets usually give us trouble when they can rush 3 and defend our dink-and-dunk passing with their other 8. I am thinking that one reason we went more vertical against the Bills was in preparation for the Jets. It certainly gives the Jets defense something to think about, and of course this time the Jets don't have Revis to shut down one side of the field.

With the way that the Jets load up in the box in anticipation of one blitz or another, even though their DBs suck, this is a game where the quick WR screen could pay real dividends.

I think this is a good test for our O-Line. I think the Jets D-Line might be the best in the NFL, thankfully the rest of their defense is not that good. But, it will be interesting to see how much time Brady has in this game.

There pretty fast, I think this will be more downfield passing, with Lafell having a big impact. I agree with the quick WR screen perhaps less hb screens/dumpoffs.

jets fans are old school.....

kind of like spartans

warrior poets

warrior poets?

What would be the complete opposite?

milquetoast malapropisms?

Yeah, I am thinking more like that.

Last week was Buffalo's Super Bowl, and this week is the Jests Super Bowl. As long as Brady is upright the Pats should easily take this game, despite the other team throwing everything at them.

As Julius Thomas demonstrated, the Jets are weak against TEs. Given that Gronk is coming to town, I expect Rex to try fixing that this week. Again, quick hits to receivers have been very effective against the Jets, which is why Ryan had his LBs flared outside the box so much last week, and part of why the Broncos were able to gain so many yards on the ground.

So, we could see Ryan make some significant changes to his usual M.O. We could see his LBs wider than usual, his CBs looking to move forward more at the snap, and the middle of the field more open for any running back who breaks through the line.

I'm not sure that Ryan has the horses at safety to pull this off for 60 minutes, but it might give him his best chance to win.

I hope to see more Wright. Hopefully he sees a larger increase in snaps this week.

I would give the Jets more of a chance if both teams didn't only practice one day this week. I think the only way that the Jets have a chance to win is to come up with a special game plan that keeps the Patriots off kilter, but how do you implement that on such a short week.

Personally, I expect both teams to come out with more basic game plans or game plans they have used in the past. In that scenario, it really favors the Pats.

Rex promises that "you'll see" how tough they play us on Thursday in his presser today.

Most of his predictions are wrong--however, he has gone out on a limb vs N.England and been correct though too. He often has them play us fairly tough.

Personally, I highly doubt that it's going to be anything close to the blowout that you are envisioning, especially with the rain/wind, but I hope to be very, very wrong. We really need to go into the longer break with a 5-2 record.

Now that I'm hearing heavy rain in Gillette, I've lowered my expected point total, but still expected a dominant win. Not saying our offense is going to slice and dice them like it has, but I expect our defense to abuse them and get the ball.

You won't hear from Decker the entire game. He might as well take the night off, and from there it'll just be interceptions galore. It'll be a moron quarterback making bad decisions in the direction of bad receivers against an elite NFL secondary. Geno is going to have one of his worst games ever against us at some point this season. Might as well be tomorrow.

I don't even consider it a rivalry anymore. We cut their heart out on national television with the Thanksgiving prime time game in 2012. The Patriots made that team a joke. Rivalry over. They're too bad now. Last year's close games won't happen again. I suspect we'll send Rex out of the Razor for the last time as the Jets HC with a statement beat down. If the weather prevents it from being too bad this time, it'll come in their own stadium when we play them there.

The Jets are now the worst team in the AFC East and they're a complete basket case. Horrible, turn over prone offense even against mediocre defense. They have absolutely no concept of situational football. Ever see the Jets in a two minute drill? It's like they let a fan call the plays for a possession.

Honestly, a freaking person who plays Madden on Xbox knows more about situational football than Rex Ryan does. It's honestly embarrassing. How can their moron owner ever not just say to Rex, "Dude, WTF was that? Seriously."

Division games can be close and tough because of familiarity, but with huge gaps in talent and coaching, that familiarity can lead to embarrassing beat downs, too, like we've shown the Jets, Dolphins and Bills plenty of times before.

Rex Ryan gonna' kiss the rings two more times before he packs his circus up for a new town.

Slight hyperbole here but I say this game you go with the Red Zone short field personnel and plays except of course Edelperson is put there because of his superior quickness. No Amendola (be still B6, be still my man) but the big guys who can use their bodies to box out or out jump the defenders in short passes. I'd go with the fullback for pass & run blocking on a majority of plays.

Once the Jets see this as the norm, try a couple plays medium deep assuming it's not a deluge like last year's CIN game where even mudder TFB simply could not see to throw the ball.

I am in NJ today, it started raining around 4 PM today we are expecting some severe weather tonight and tomorrow morning but by tomorrow PM it will clear after lunch. What is expected at the game tomorrow night in Foxbough ?

Over 2" of rain Tuesday with very high % of rain during the entire rout of the Jets

I see now stork and Connolly are questionable now. The pats app must of had the injury report mixed up.

I will have my golf rain gear on which is like that. 100% water proof will keep me nice and dry :)

My wife got me Dry Joy rain gear about 10 years ago and it still works perfectly. She got it to keep me out of the house for those 10 or so days a year that I wouldn't play because of the weather. It works just as great for football games too.
