Why Revis doesn't play man-press all game long

My follow up question would have been then why did you have him playing zone or man-off in goal-to-goal or inside the 20 situations early in the season? I'm sure that would have been answered with additional run support but I think a few of them came a few came on later downs with longer distances.
Assuming you are right and they do play more zone than man I think there could be a lot of reasons.

Run support as you suggest.

Or maybe the fact that it's a likely run play means it's a good time not to be in man so your not chasing the receiver needlessly like bb suggested.

If it's goal to go and no first down to be had play zone and flood the end zone and goal line.

I honestly never considered that.

You obviously never played DB in a football game then. :)

I played mostly DB in my youth and I used to hate running plays, especially when they were run to my side. The WR will always try to run you off and the really good ones would make it look like a pass was coming their way. So you not only have to cover him, you have to look back for the ball being thrown and if you see that it's a run play, you have to run your butt away from the (now blocking) WR to try and make the tackle. Run plays make the DB run all over the place. The best ones read the run a lot quicker than I did. :)

I'd like to see a CB blitz next time the quarterback isn't even looking at Revis's man like Orton was doing. The dude wasn't even glancing in his direction. Revis could of gotten a sweet sack.

In retrospect, I now think that this does make more sense, considering that Revis isn't getting any younger and so this is probably a good exercise in longevity management.

Particularly given the way he seemed to be managing a hamstring issue in the early season. If he were in man all day against Mike Wallace, we might be seeing him for the second time today.
