I expect this game to be a dog fight. I don't expect a blow out. Call me crazy.

the key will be if the offensive line can keep brady standing. they did a pretty good job against buffalo's front 7 which is pretty deadly as well...that jets secondary is HORRIBLE. so if brady has time he will TEAR them to shreds.

I also have faith that Geno Smith will throw a pick 6 and turn over the ball several times...

Seems like every beat writer or various site that report injury reports have what Reiss had

So is it all those people were wrong or did the Patriots webmaster read something wrong?

I would go with the majority of the writers. They are getting it from the official reports submitted to the league. It has been almost 24 hours since the injury report was released and none of the local guys have been saying they are out. Besides, the Pats never tip their hand about who is officially out until the day before the game unless the player is gone for a long time.

Won't know who practiced until the injury report comes out. Looks like the press were booted from practice before even Brady came on the field.

It's always been 90 minutes before kickoff. Changed?

Note to any moderator. Can we put a disclaimer in the title of this thread that this is unconfirmed? Not one local guy has confirmed anyone but Mayo and Ridley and the injury report contradicts this report. I think CBS Sports made a mistake.
Certainly would like to edit the thread title but the mod tools are not working for me right now. Maybe I've been fired, always the last one to know.

Yesterday it was reported that those players would have been held "OUT" if there had been an actuall practice. There wasn't a practice. I believe that everything stems from that initial report. They may all end up being out, but the Patriot's certainly aren't announcing it days before they have to.

@cpriceNFL
Same practice report for Patriots....Ridley & Mayo out....Connolly, Fleming, Ebner & Stork all DNPs.

I guess this is what the beat writers see so it's the one that NFL has (as I saw two writers post this)

Game status is announced on Wed afternoon for Thurs game.

Stork and Connolly must be judged ready to play by two neurologists - one by the team followed by one unaffiliated with the Patriots on the approved NFL/NFLPA list.

I read into this that neither has been approved by two physicians as of Tuesday. That is not to say one or both couldn't be back on Thursday. Hurrying a situation like this seems dangerous in both the short -term and long-term.

It would be nice if the NFL would treat this situations like a temporary IR so that the team could sign somebody to take the pressure off of a speedy recovery and to give teams a chance to have a little depth at whatever position the player with the head injury plays. These injuries are very different than other injuries that have a much more predictable course of treatment and recovery time.

The Patriots have 9 OL on the roster. If 3 are unable to go, would they really go into a game with 6? I'm thinking a roster move would be more likely than that.

I feel that way all the more because:
  • I can't see why Cannon was being rotated in unless Vollmer's snaps are being managed, suggesting he is yet again managing an injury.
  • With Solder's dubious play there's a reasonable chance that he's managing an injury as well.
  • Wendell was recently hurt.
  • Both Devey and Kline are likely to do things that make the coaches want to bench them.

When he was asked about Jonas Gray he said typically practice squad guys get called up the day before a game.

My guess is Jonas Gray and Darius Fleming get called up. Although if the 3 OL are out I could see Pats just going with Vereen, Bolden, and White for the game and adding an extra OL instead of Gray.

Chris Barker is on the practice squad, and was actually on the 53-man roster start of last season.
He might be a good candidate.
Agree of Fleming, as discussed in the Mayo thread.

I couldn't agree more.

I don't think this game is going to come easily. If anything, it may be a less scoring version of Sunday's Bills game where they pull away down the stretch.

There are some rivalries where you can throw the records right out the window, and I think that this could be argued as one of those.
