What worries me is not rain but monsoon rain like the Cincy game last year where even Brady, the best mudder in football, simply could not throw.
Seeing showers likely for the game as of now. 70% chance of rain. Temperatures around 55.

Wait. Philip Adams is a starting CB for the Jets now? That doesn't seem fair.

Given the quality of their DBs the Jets should play with 2 safeties and rush 9. Sit the CBs for LBs/DEs.

Keeping Ryan around for the whole season is good protection for Idzik. With a 3-4 win season the big time heat will at some point be turned on Idzik and he can then protect himself by gassing Rex. Firing Rex mid season would be a very poor use of his chips, but then again it is the Jest we are talking about so toss logic right out the window
reports are that the owner is more pissed off at Idzik then Ryan for not using the 20 million in cap space they have to sign players, not sure why they did not try to re-sign Antonio Cromartie he only got a one year less then 4 million contact

The Jet's defense forced Manning to throw some bad passes. It's their secondary that is their achilles heel. They have an excellent front 7 that can make a lot of QB's skittish. They were tied for the lead in sacks prior to yesterday's game. Seems to me that they were ok giving up the run to protect getting blown away by the pass, kept the ball out of Manning's hands as well, but that plan seemed to backfire. I believe the Pat's used the same gameplan in their win against Denver last season. Moreno had a career day against us, but Manning had pedestrian numbers against us.

Manning threw 33 times and completed 22 of them. How many bad throws did he have (I am asking because I didn't see the game)? His numbers are almost near identical to his numbers at home vs. Indy (22 of 33 for 239 and 3 TDs and no INTs vs the Jets and 22 of 36 for 269 yards and 3 TDs and no INTs vs. Indy).

I would actually go with 7 d-linemen and 5 LBs. Blitz everyone on every play. They don't have a secondary anyway. Why put bodies in the secondary?

BTW, their safeties suck almost as bad as their CBs but their CBs get all the bad press. I expect Gronk to have a good game.

If I was a Jets fan, I would be worried that with a shortened preparation week for the Jets that Geno Smith might miss a crucial team meeting because he screwed up calculating the difference between the New York time zone and the New England time zone.

I went over to JI also. I thought I would crank the boys up and maybe get RAH RAH going. But then I thought it would be cruel they are so pathetic. Nah Im going to do it anyways because well they are the Jets fans

7DL and 5 LBs? Great advice; I hope Rex takes it!

Imagine advancing all the way to inside the Jets 5 yd line on consecutive 12 men on the field penalties!

Jets Insider explodes with Refs hate us threads!

Bolden made some nice plays in pass protection in the 2nd half yesterday, giving Brady just enough time on some of those 3rd down completions. That will probably give him more playing time Thursday.

So does Revis cover Decker this game?

Oops! I add like Geno Smith calculates time zone differential.

Quoting chris berman on the jest secondary...... " Its now Gilligans Island'

So very early turn around here.

Some interesting facts about the Jets

Jets rank last in passing yards per game @ 182.2 p/g. Their running game is above average (12th)

The D in Passing YPG is 15th (235) but defensive QB rating is an awful 109.2.

Goes without saying they can stop the run with a very good DL & are tied foe 2nd with 19 sacks on the year. However they have only generated 3 turnovers all year to be tied 2nd to last,

Guys to watch are Decker (if he plays) and Amaro who is starting to come on and due to our troubles with TEs could be an issue. Ivory is a solid runner and CJ2K is not what he was but a good #2. Not to mention Mangold is still one of the top Centers and their OL as a whole is good.

We all know the problems on D.

Wilkerson being the biggest one of course but the front 7 as a whole is pretty fearsome. They gave Denver a bit of a scare last week and I think will give the Patriots one too for a time.

the jets are a joke, but they are always a tough out.
They will come in with a lot of fire like always and its going to be up to the patriots to stomp it out early.

I'd like to see the Jets' front seven pursuing sideline to sideline in this game. They're the best chance New York has to pull off the win since their secondary is garbage. Get some misdirection plays, outside runs, screens, quick hitches and slants going to wear them out. Go up tempo from the get go and get them sucking wind.

I don't know what has happened to our tempo on offense, but it has gone from hyper-hurry-up to near-delay-of-game slow.

Game plan is pretty simple.

Dare Geno to beat you with his arm. Score when you can. I think it will probably be 27-13 Pats. Jets don't tend to score enough and if we don't make dumb mistakes that won't change.

Let's talk about the Jets? I'd rather talk about steaming hot garbage in the sun on a 98 degree day in July. Double-yoo baby.

Block the front seven and get out of the game without an injury is the first order. BB always has issues with scrambling QBs so keeping geno in the pocket is the primary task. You want to make him throw not run. Going to be a close game. Their defense is usually a tough out and they throw a lot things at you. Hopefully our oline can hang on and improve communication with all kind of blitzers coming.
