I just wanted to start a thread for the young kid. He has been the best RB we have had in the past few seasons, even last season. I don't know what his future holds and I had doubts he'd be with NE beyond this season anyway, and the injury doesn't make that picture any clearer. It sucks to see him go down like that, especially since it looked like he cured his fumbling this season.

Stevan, we thank you and wish you a speedy recovery and a good career moving forward, be it with NE or elsewhere. I never doubted you or your commitment to the team. You will be missed this season and maybe beyond. Keep your head up!

Given the hate showered on Ridley in this forum you should have about 20 people lining up to support him. Ridley was toasted here all offseason.

Really a shame probably last he ll play here. I know everyone gets injuries but **** I can't remember Seattle having tons of injuries last year.

Count me among the 20. I wish him the best in his recovery and success in his future.

He runs hard. When you see most NFL backs ****yfooting up to the line (saw it yesterday with Spiller, and Blount did the same thing too) you know you have something special when someone is so fearless..

Losing Ridley is going to hurt the offense.

I actually just revisited the Reiss Predicts Ridley Will Be Cut thread and saw more support for him than I had remembered, however there was still plenty of hate, although those doing most of the hating were people like Triumph who hate everyone on this team.

Yeah, that's why I tend to make up my own mind about a particular player. I saw way more good from and in Ridley than bad. He ran hard and always gave everything he had. Moreover, I've never seen a young player exhibit the kind of accountability that the young kid did. He always talked about needing to do better and seemed to be pretty hard on himself at times. He is good for this team, but I don't know if we see him in a NE uniform again.

Never got the Ridley hate...though I understand concerns about the fumbling.

I wish him the best and hope we see him back.

I don't think it's impossible. I just think it's improbable. The 31 other teams would have to show him little to no interest for this to happen, but I doubt that will be the case. The kid has obvious talent. He seemed to fix his ball issues this season too. He does no one thing great, just many things well. Someone will sign him for more than NE will put up for him.

I think that's the case, but I think there's a chance he gets the 2013 Edelman treatment on the open market because of the "fumbling issues" and the injury.

I'm sure it'll have more to do with the injury than the fumbling. I just don't think that's viewed as a major issue at this point in his career outside of NE. I have nothing to back that up, however, so take it with a grain of salt. I just think that his upside is so obvious and someone will pounce. I also don't know how deep the draft will be at his position, but I've got to believe someone will still look at him before they look to a rookie, unless the rookie is Gurley or someone like that. I'd be more surprised if NE retained him than the converse.

I think he will somehow stay in NE on a contract that is beneficial to both parties

He actually was one of my favorites in this current team, I wish him nothing but the best and will be rooting for him to remain on the roster next year

Well, I like him. He works hard, tries to improve and is a damn good runner. He's also relentlessly positive, at least on Facebook. What's to dislike?

Get well soon, Steven.

I never understood the Ridley hate, just like I never got the Ghost hate last year nor the Brady hate this year. Belichick is a stickler for ball security and this played into it, but if you looked at the stats, Ridley was always on par with other RBs in that respect. He works hard and plays with all his heart every single down. You can see it in his face.

Anyway, he will be sorely missed. I think his shoes will not be easy to fill but hopefully the next man up will try their best to make him proud. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to him!

I always felt Ridley got too much hate here. He is a solid RB. He will be missed.

I fully expect him to sign with another team on an one year deal next year. He is going to want to go to a place where he has a shot to be a featured RB and let him rush 25-30 times a game so he can try to cash in during the 2016 offseason. He won't get that here where the Pats don't typically run just one RB as a featured back all game, game in and game out.
