The Bills board, official "The Refs screwed us" thread

Blaming the refs is a loser's lament. It is when you lose and it is when you win. If you play the game that close and you lose, you get what you get. When people blame the refs, all I can say is "childish".

So they are blaming the refs for the horrible turnovers we forced? ok jills fans so back to your hole

In their defense, that offensive pass interference was ticky tack at best. That said, the Pats got some awful spots.

Even if that call isn't made, it was still an incomplete and they also were flagged for illegal formation on the same play.

And that was the only questionable call against them, really. The PI that Gronk drew wasn't great either, but that's what happens when you grab a receiver and don't get your head around.

Not nearly as bad as Gronk's fumble being overturned for no discernible reason, or Gronk's TD being called back for a hold that wasn't half as bad as any of 5-10 different uncalled holds on Ninkovich

Some bad calls for both sides, more called against them. Certainly not as atrocious as Jerome booger last week. Not even close....

As I've already said, I think there were bad calls against both teams. If the officiating didn't suck, we wouldn't have to listen to this crap.

The biggest blunder the zebras made was not ejecting Robert Woods for headbutting Revis after the 2 point conversion, that even made it into the NFL.com highlights with commentary of "look at Robert Woods and Revis jawing after the play".

Watched the game at Randy (Zip) Pierce's Bruschi shrine. Dozen or more stalwart fans. All game long the Bills were holding Ninko and what do we get? A pathetic holding call on Devy negating a stellar play by both Brady & Gronk.

Yeah, the PI that Gronk drew was ticky-tack but met the definition of the rules. Still should not have been called against Buffalo.

Overturning the Gronk catch as ruled complete on the field was a homer call but can be argued either way. Inconsistent though.

Yep refs allowed receivers to be open all day. Even called back a great TD on a bordeline hold on Devey only for the Bills to give up the TD on the next play.

There were plenty of bad calls both ways, and the refs went flag crazy in the second half overall. But i must agree that the holding call on Devey, considering the outrageous holding they'd allowed to that point, was maybe the worst call of the day considering the play result (Gronk's awesome TD catch).

what happened to Uncle Meat, anyway? Guess he welched on a few Vegas bets and met the big adios...

Pretty lame. The only player that performed on their team was Chandler on offense. Gilmore looked like a rookie and Duke Williams didn't play like any Duke I know. Brady exposed that defense and they knew they were throwing and there was nothing they could do about it. Nice run D, but they aren't the entire package and playing against a angry Brady doesn't help either. They got owned and they are mad and starving for any kind of success.

Bad calls? Yeah a couple, but I think with the new officiating, we've all seen our fair share of those through the first 6 games. See you in New England, Buffalo fans.

I love that the whole 'can't breathe on Brady' thing is still getting beat into the ground. That's when you know the person is a total mouth-breathing tardass who couldn't turn on the TV to actually watch the game because picking up and using a remote requires opposable thumbs.

Well I'm banned from that forum for creating a username "HungLikeBuffaloDong"

Usually teams that amp themselves up for a regular season Superbowl with the Patriots end up having a season collapse after their beat down (Houston collapsed for two seasons after theirs). I forget who was last year, but it was someone. (Atlanta and some others?)

The Bills were a promising young team yesterday.

Now they'll finish 6-10 and miss the play offs.

Fatality.

Both Bills boards are kind of sad to observe. I really can't be mad at them. Suffering so many years of abuse you're bound to have an irrational fanbase that turns to conspiracies to excuse their teams' poor history. I can't help but wonder the result if the shoe was on the other foot. Hopefully I'll never find out.

Buffalo "should" go into their bye week at 5-3. They "should" go no worse than 2-1 after that, heading into the Cleveland game at 7-4. They "should" beat the Raiders, although it's a cross-country game. If they can win their "should" games (Jets*2, Dolphins, Vikings, Raiders), they'll be in position to threaten for the playoffs. They'll probably need one upset (Patriots, Packers, Chiefs, Broncos) and/or the Browns win to get in, but they've still got a shot at the playoffs. Looking at the way teams are playing right now, it seems to be setting up something like this:

AFCE
Patriots

AFCN
Bengals/Ravens

AFCS
Colts

AFCW
Broncos

Wild card race (as of now, likelihood not in the listed order, IMO)
Bengals/Ravens
Chargers
Chiefs
Bills
Texans
Steelers
Browns
Dolphins

(Almost) No chance in hell
Titans
Jets
Jaguars
Raiders

Lol!

Angry about the refs? Do something about it!
I did something. I don't know if it will help at all, but at least it's something.

I wrote to Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com and asked him to look at the game tape and write a piece about these awful calls. If mine is the only email he gets about it, there's little chance of him coming through. But if he gets a few thousand...who knows?

Most likely nothing will come of it even if Florio does a piece, but it's better than giving up entirely, right?

So don't just sit here and write about it, write to a guy that has a national platform and a real voice.

His email is [email protected].
