Jerod Mayo suffers knee injury

Off topic--but I do not believe that your meme depicting Richard Sherman is accurate. It's nothing but typical internet folklore.

He has a Bachelor's degree....in communications. He never finished a Master's degree. He attended Stanford from '06--'10.

Still impressive, but not quite what it's portraying.

Meh. My point still stands.

If I had to pick getting one of these guys back, I would take Mayo. I think the team can absorb a Ridley "out for the year' scenario with James White and/or signing the Law Firm. However, losing Mayo a second year in a row would be tough.
I doubt anyone would disagree that Mayo would be the biggest loss.

forgot about BJGE...sure bring him back..
would be a big help on short yardage.

Green-Ellis is done. The guy can't break tackles anymore. He was never good at making people miss. He doesn't have any vision; just runs straight with his head down. No speed. No cuts. What does he do that White couldn't? Mediocre is mediocre. Doesn't matter if you've heard of the guy or not. Green-Ellis has been dealing with a hip injury since preseason too. Not worth while.

I don't know why. We are 6 games into the season, and no fumbles. He has taken the tough coaching about ball security to heart just like Faulk once did. Plus he was on course for an 1100 yard season, similar to his previous 1300 yard season.
Acl injury + being a RB is normally a very bad combination if you're not Adrian Peterson.

We can deal with Ridley's loss since we have adequate backups in Vereen and Bolden, and Connolly will be replaced by Stork this Thursday and has the bye week to recover.

However, the loss of Mayo is huge. As has been mentioned, he is the heart of the defense. I expect to see Hightower with the green dot from this point on, but worry about who the 3rd LB is going to be.

Do we have any updates at all on Mayo yet? Holding out hope that it isn't season ending.

If it's not a confirmed ACL yet like with Ridley then that's probably a good thing, right?

Ridleys isn't confirmed, but I don't think their is any chance both will be playing another snap on the 2014 patriots roster

With all due respect to Ridley, Mayo is the biggest loss of the day. He's easily the most irreplaceable of the injured stars today. Jerod has been the heart and soul of the defense for years. His absence will be felt regardless of whomever fills him in for him.

The one positive, and only the one that I can find, is that they've got some experience with playing without Mayo from last year.

I agree on all your points. I just want to add that maybe with the addition of Revis we will be in better shape than last year the guy is shutting down the opposing teams best receiver which helps the.rest of the defense

and we've yet to see what browner is going to bring to the table....

We're also better off because Vince isn't out so there's better play up front from the DL. Not to minimize the loss of Mayo but the loss of both last year was the crusher until Siliga came in.

This is my X factor/Wild card. Maybe we will finally see that BIG NICKEL, where Browner plays the safety - linebacker role. Similar to what Tahoe Wilson played today.

Meh. My point still stands.

I've heard Sherman speak on multiple occasions - I truly don't believe he is even intelligent for a football player (football IQ notwithstanding). To expand on the subtle communications degree knock made by Supafly, it is considered one of the "easiest" post-secondary programs to take, even if it does make sense that a college athlete have a school/sport balance.

I can't speak for everyone, but respectfully, I'm actually half disgusted having to look at that eyesore of a meme. I like the Fresh Prince picture though.

When does the GH testing agreement go through? Get him on some good ole fashioned Ossie Newsome approved Mexican Deer Antler Velvet supplements and he'll be good to go for the playoffs.

How did a thread about Mayo turn into one about Sherman and HGH testing?

We're so thin at that position now

Can Browner play LB?
