It's almost like Belichick picks up some guys who he knows are not a good fit for his scheme, thinking he will come around, only to realize (after it's too late), that the scheme ain't changing. Sure- Browner may be a "situational" cornerback who can try to shut down a tight end of big receiver from time to time, but frankly, Jamie Collins can play that role just fine and I think the rule changes are going to effect Browner more than anyone.

Let's be honest, if the Dolphins, Bills, Jets, or Broncos has signed Browner this offseason, everyone on here would have been smirking, calling him washed up, and at the very best, a depth signing.

Cornerback Brandon Browner is a new addition to the New England Patriots injury report as he missed Thursday’s practice with an ankle injury.

Browner participated in the team’s walk-through on Wednesday. He was activated on Monday after serving a four-game suspension to start the season. This injury could put his season debut in jeopardy, and it will be one to monitor on Friday and before Sunday’s game at Buffalo.

Another new addition to the injury report is rookie center Bryan Stork. Stork was listed as a limited participant in Thursday’s practice with a head injury. Like Browner, Stork was a full participant in the team’s Wednesday walk-through.

We'll most likely see Browner play most of his snaps against teams with immobile pocket passers, as the meme thus far with the Patriots defense is to play aggressive, man-press packages against these types of quarterbacks. On the flip, Browner probably would not see many snaps when the Patriots defense is matched up with the offenses quarterbacked by the mobile passers, since the schemes are more zone oriented in these match ups.
