More than a third of this week's players picked the Bengals, which looked like a no-brainer after the Chiefs game. Surprise! Sometimes I like surprises :)

A few had a pretty good idea how it would go, though. None moreso than Horace's Ivories, who won our contest for the second time (first was in 2007).

As is typical with a blowout win right after a blowout loss, there were lots of big jumps up and down the standings. But through it all sb1 stayed at the top.

Very happy to be wrong although I dropped from 5th in the season standings to 42nd because of it.

Though, I am ashamed. At first I predicted a loss to the Bengals 34-10. Thankfully, I came to my senses and changed the score just in time.

Don't ask me how as wrong as I was on the prediction I moved up from 23 to 6. No way I can maintain that high a standard, gotta try but look for a big drop this week:rolleyes:

Last week I was, what, 120th out of 123? This week I'm 110th out of 111. At this rate of attrition I'll crack the top 100 in two weeks.

Looking at FrodoBaggins' score, I think I may the last among folks who are actually trying. Frodo: Sincere apologies if you actually are trying.

I had no clue how this game would turn out, so I didn't even make a guess.

The strategy seems t have worked out well, as I moved up 16 spots in the rankings.

For those of you keeping score at home, if you'd just taken the spread and the O/U for the first five weeks of the contest this year, you'd have ended up, like me, in 14th place, 22 points off the lead with 11 games to go.

While that's definitely "no fun," frankly, I did it because I admitted to myself that I had no frickin' idea what was happening one week to the next with the "Work in Progress" that the Pats have become.

The difference between 14th place and first place is those contestants whose "gut" guided them correctly one or two of those weeks. Sooner or later, I'll follow my gut too and either rise like a rocket or drop like a stone in the standings based on whether I get lucky; the smart money says I'll drop like a stone.

well that's no fun! I just pick it based on what I feel...not on O/U. And my method has be in 3rd..for now....I will probably drop though. Always have one BAD week
