When NYJ fire Rex would you guys want him as DC with Patriots?

I don't think he will either, but he will have an easier time getting a head coaching job going somewhere else and turning a team's defense into a top defense than doing it here.

Oh there isn't a chance in hell he ends up here under any circumstances.

Just for $hits and giggles, and excluding any interpersonal issues between BB and Rex Ryan…. – if the latter were to lose his head coaching jobs with the Jets, would you like to see him as our defensive coordinator?

Nah. Rex Ryan's defense is honestly overrated. He has done nothing but invest 1st rounders into his defense and it still sucks, still suffers blow outs, and never makes a late game clutch stop.

Revis was awesome, but that's on Revis. Rex is way overrated.

Besides, he'll get another Head Coach job somewhere

I think Rex is a fine DC, but no--I wouldn't want him here.

He has an attitude that doesn't work on this team, in my opinion. He's also crossed the line with his comments about the organization and Belichick.

Bill may feel differently, but that's my take on it.

Better chance of me getting married to kate upton

I know this won't be popular, but I kind of like Rex, he's grown on me. Not arrogant Rex of course, but the humble Rex of the past two years. He just seems to genuinely care for his players and tries to protect them from any media-driven negativity which happens to all teams. If I was a player, I would love to play for him.

If he had been with any other team than the Jets I would actually root for him.

Let the down arrow's begin.

If Wrecks had anything to contribute here, it would be provided as a "consultant" position where he'd simply give his insights into AFC East personnel (including Jets players) and an assessment of the Patriots own vulnerabilities that he saw as HC of the NYJ

There'd be no reason or interest to have him serve in any coaching or coordinating position

I can't see any other team hiring him as a head coach. He's taken the Jets from "joke" to "laughing stock" - and that's quite an accomplishment for a team that remains tied with the Houston Oilers for Eastern division championships and hasn't been to a Super Bowl since Man walked on the Moon

There was some joking talk today of Rex and Rob coaching together ... rob as HC I think LOL.
Seriously Rex is a very good DC ... but we don't need him.

no no and no.

I know everyone here has bad blood. But Rex Ryan is a very very good Defensive Co-ordinator. People here whine about Patricia constantly. Well Rex would be one of the best there is no doubting that.

hes a buffoon and i have no respect for him. his teams always get penalized and show zero poise. he was fortunate in baltimore he had ozzie newsome shopping for the groceries.

Not as a DC, but I think it could be good for BB to pick Rex's brain. I think that having different and unexpected plays can be a huge advantage for the defense. I think a well timed overload blitz could really surprise an opposing qb on a crucial third or fourth down at some point. I know it happens to the Pats sometimes.

The NE offense could benefit too from learning how Rex tried to beat it. There wouldn't be any harm in hearing his opinions anyway.

Could still happen. I'm waiting out for Jennifer Lawrence personally :)

Then you aren't as familiar with Kate "the great" Upton, as you should be, my friend. Jennifer Lawrence is second tier in that comparison.

On another note--what do you think the female posters think of us when we go off the trail and start to make these kinds of comments? Hopefully, they see it as nothing more than "guy humor," as I wouldn't want to offend anyone ;)

While I get where you're coming from, I think that this is Belichick's defense in many ways still.

I'd like to have seen this when TB was single:

Question from a relative n00b:

Doesn't Rex Ryan make the Jets easier to hate more? So won't you miss him after he's fired?

Ever hear of Charlotte McKinney? Like Kate Upton but better.

It really is just guy humor. I mean we find these women attractive so obviously if a comment about one of them comes up, then the discussion might get sidetracked :). Oh and trust me my friend, I am very familiar with Kate Upton. When I was a sophomore, her Sobe drink commercial came out. It was love at first sight :p. But now it's Jenn for me. I can't explain it. Anyway, back to the OT ;)

Yes, some small part of me would miss him--like maybe my pinky toe ;)

I'd rather have her as the defensive coordinator. As long as she wears a bikini.
