One of our members at the Bills board does this every week. It is awesome. I thought you guys would like to see Orton's first game of the year. He got better as the game went on as he knocked the rust off.

Thanks, man. Bills have a pretty good offensive line. Orton did a nice job.

That's good stuff. Thanks for posting it.

Orton gets a bad rap, but I believe the Bills' possibilities improved the moment they acquired him. He is a solid QB.

Yeah, I was hoping they'd stick with Manuel longer. There were plenty here saying that the best Bills QB was holding the clipboard on opening day.

Thanks for the post. It's a pretty good look at a guy we haven't really seen in quite a while.

I have seen Orton many times throughout the years. Very solid and masterfully plays situational football in the fourth quarter. If he played the first three quarters the way he does the last, he would be in the upper echelon of qbs in the league.

As solid as he is, I don't think he is a threat to beat us because he is too conservative.

Watch for the screen, and cover the backs coming out of the backfield, make Kyle Orton make difficult throws =profit

Some takeaways from the video:

1) The Bills have a number of weapons that are dangerous with the ball in their hands. Tackling is going to be the most important focus on defense.

2) Orton's deep balls are wildly inconsistent. He made one really nice throw deep to the outside, and a few good darts in the 15-20 yard range, but for the most part his yards came from short passes and YAC.

3) The Detroit Lions have a pretty good front. They're going to be a tough challenge when we face them.

Against Orton it's 2 picks guaranteed ! We will need to capitalize in the turnovers because it's always a rough game there.

Lots of throws to the backs there both on screens and delayed releases. Hope the NE defense is up for covering Jackson and Spiller.

Getting Hightower back would help. As bad as he can look having to cover a guy one on one, get him in a zone on a dump off and he'll not allow make the tackle usually, but there's a decent chance of a fumble on one of those.

thx for posting -- that was awesome!

should be a good game this weekend

Detroit has poor linebacker play. Most of the damage was done on the intermediate middle of the field stuff.

Orton looks bad throwing screens. He does make good decisions, though, so we will have to execute very well to beat them.

The Bills game is going to be tough luckily for us the secondary of the Patriots has become in my opinion the strongest area of the team hopefully Mccourty and Revis are good to go Orton is a solid QB

Man, Sammy Watkins looks good. I saw him at Clemson a couple of times, but he looks like a man out there, even as a rookie in the NFL. We could use a guy with hands like that.

I was hoping EJ woukd still be playing...dam

Orton looks even better when you realize he was being blinded by some bozo with a laser on some of those plays.

I saw one good throw........

the lions coverage was horrible

I saw one really bad throw, the rest are relatively on target or safe.

the bills don't need orton to beat us, they are going to rely on a stellar running tandem, and good defense.

The Bills are much stronger at RB than at QB while the Pats defense is stronger against the pass than they are the run.

As such, I suspect we'll see the Bills look to establish the run first while asking Orton to manage the game and not turn the ball over which, if the Bills can run on us, he should do fine at. Key for us is to stop Jackson and Spiller and make Orton beat us by throwing against the strength of this defense .... the secondary. I like our secondary to win the matchup

The issue with that is he's the only WR that can beat a team deep. Woods can get deep every now and again, but he's not the home run threat Watkins is. If we can stop their rushing attack (big if, as we'll have to scheme against it) and Revis does what is expected of him, it should go a long way toward bogging their offense down.
