BB is going to be here longer than Auerbach was. Crazy stuff. He will be the coach/manager with the longest term all time in Boston.

there would need to be a monumental collapse for the patriots to get rid of brady. Patriots fans across new England would riot.

And now douche and squeaky have something they can spin as confirmation that if Pats fail this year that Kraft will have to choose between Brady and Belichick

Jim Gray: Could you finish your career somewhere else?

Brady: Well everybody’s circumstances are different, and the NFL is very unpredictable. Pro sports in general, they’re all unpredictable. If Michael Jordan could end on another team and if Joe Montana could end on another team and if LeBron James could switch teams, you look at all these phenomenal players that have always switched teams. Now my goal is certainly not to do that, but those things aren’t always in my control. I would like to be (in New England) for as long as possible, hopefully through the end of my career. Certainly this year is the only one that matters because it’s the only one we have in front of us and it’s the only one we can do something about. So that’s how I feel about that.

i can respect that......but i asked bedard that in an online chat and he *thought* BB wants to try to win post brady

Who do you think is better, Brady as a QB or BB as a coach? I asked this to Bedard a while back in one of his chats and this is what he said:

"Great question. Until BB wins a title without Brady -- and I think Belichick would like to try that -- most people will say Brady was the straw, even though I don't subscribe to that. Some people do. "

just his opinion......just my opinion

Why does everyone seem to forget that Belichick won 3 Super Bowls without Lawrence Taylor?

This guy always goes in on Belichick. Apparently, they had a decent relationship (as decent a relationship Bill has with media guys) when he was working for Sports Illustrated but they had a falling out.

I'll take whatever he says about Belichick with a grain of salt. Much like Ron Borges.

BUT, that being said. It's not far fetched to believe that Belichick could trade Brady. This is Belichick we're talking about. Kraft could stop a trade if BB does want to do it, but I'm sure BB would have no problem trading Brady if he thought that was the right thing to do for the team.

Michael Silver is the "growing disconnect" guy, right? The guy that reported a growing disconnect when, if my memory serves me right, Brady literally penned his new contract one month later? Where has he been since 2010?

Michael Silver: Tom Brady, Bill Belichick Could Part After Patriots 2014 Season | NESN

What kind of nonsense is this ? He interviews Welker and Talib who clearly will love BB , and says 'executives around the league' . Is this unbiased reporting ?

I posted this very article yesterday afternoon under the Felger/Mazz discussion. Mike Silver is a member of the Brady camp. He's close to TB and his cabal. You guys and gals need to bring a bit of maturity to this subject.
Tom Brady wants to play past 40 years old. You think Bill Belichick wants a 40 year old Tom Brady??
Come on. Grow up Patriot fans.

Mike Silver loves Tom Brady (they got friendly when Silver interviewed him early in Brady's career), but hates Bill Belichick and the Pats. He has a long history of praising Brady while crapping on Belichick and the Pats.

LOL at the "grow up" shtick.

It is true that Brady wants to play into his forties. He also does everything in his power to make that happen. This doesn't just include his wide range of physical and mental training and preparation, but also the salary he demands. His last contract has made it clear that he is willing to play for less than market to extend his career. The real question is how long will Brady's value make sense for both BB and Kraft. Although there are other factors, I think the following equation would be a decent representation:

is (Brady's skill + leadership)/compensation + value to brand greater than or equal to the projected value of backup/compensation - projected damage to brand from Brady's release.

Only the bolded factors are within Brady's control. It will be interesting to see how much his dedication and will can ****** his decline.

And you think brady hired silver to write this for his sake ? And you ask me to grow up ?

BB ...has never overpaid to stock this team with what the media perceives as "talent"....including 2007, which was only possible because Randy Moss was available for a 4th round pick.[/QUOTE]
Huh.....??
Top of the list contracts to:
Seymour
Brady
Mankins
Wilfork
Mayo
Gronk
Revis
And.....Moss' 3 year $27 mill contract comes close.

I don't think Kraft will have to choose between either unless Belichick is convinced that Garoppolo is a franchise QB. Belichick isn't going to get rid of Brady if he doesn't have a legitimate QB to start. If Garoppolo ends up having top 5 QB (maybe top 10) potential, it may be in the Pats' best interest to trade Brady and load up for the long run.

But if he has to choose, it would have to be Belichick. Brady only has a handful of years left and Belichick could be here for the next ten. Unless Kraft doesn't see Belichick in the long term with this team.

You can STFU too, azzhat. I'm full grown and smart enough to know a fake Pats fan/actual Jet fan from Johnston when I read one. Why don't you post some teary eyed goodbyes to your precious Jeter and Joe DiMaggio.

Does he have some disorder that severely jumbled up:

Harbaugh, Kaepernick could part if 49ers falter?

Mike Silver has always and will always be delusional. Doesn't he spend good amounts of time doing the "N IF L" or whatever it's called? He recently also claimed "Tom Brady is jealous of Peyton Manning's WRS".

Seriously?

Bill Belichick will unquestionably want a 40 year old Tom Brady as long as Brady can produce. The idea that Belichick would not "want" a productive player based upon his age is ludicrous. Nice try.

I just want to know....are you guys prepared in case he doesn't finish his career here? After this contact is up and he wants to play but IF his play is slipping and fast... they won't keep him. If he retires right when contract is up then that would be awesome.

But even with his comments today...in the NFL you just never know. Just like any other sports leagues. Big time stars leave their teams ect.

As I've said before TB is my favorite player, by far, over my 54 years rooting for the team. But, that's the operative word- team. Primarily, I root for the laundry. If Brady ends his career elsewhere, I'll wish him well as long as it isn't against us. If he plays against us, I'll root like hell against him. Nothing personal.

I personally dont mind if these 'reports' continue throughout the season if the team plays as inspired as it did Sunday. Who cares. The team knows where they stand and that's all that matters.
