Collinsworth: "Uh Oh!! Don't Let Tom Brady Have a SECOND TE Who Can Play!"

I told you this kid was good. Belichick knows what he is doing.

2010-2012 our offense was phenomenal with the two TE set. Now we have our 2nd TE again and Gronk is healthy.

The two of them are going to be a nightmare for opposing defenses to contain.

The question wasn't ever if he was good. We already knew that, and he had already shown it in a Patriots uniform. The worry was he wasn't good enough to justify a 2 second pocket.

Last night was shades of 2012 though, which was my favorite offense New England has ever ran. Two TE's and no huddle rushing. It didn't look as fast as 2012 (one play every 27 seconds?)... but if the offensive line is going to repeat that performance, it could be.

If that's where this offense can get by November, with our defensive additions since 2012, the Patriots will be incredibly difficult to stop. Our 2012 O was the terror of the NFL, we just couldn't stop a nose bleed against the pass and Gronk was out with injury in the AFCCG.

This team could be terrifying by November with AH's loss finally addressed.

Little off topic, but Collinsworth is really growing on me as my favorite TV color guy in the league. I didn't like him as much his first few years, but he's gotten better in time.

As for Al Michaels, other than Summerall he may be the great of all time. It'll be sad when he retires from the booth.

I like all of the guys you mentioned along with Nance and Simms but I personally like announcers that have some personality. Madden is my all time favorite and Gruden would be much higher on my list if he would cut his qb worship by 3/4.

I was just talking about play by play guys, because John Madden is no doubt my favorite of all time in that category.

Gruden is very good when your team is winning. But if your team is losing he'll get on your nerves. ;)

What makes Collinsworth so good (apart from pointing out stuff in regards to plays a lot of people miss and explaining it clearly) is when he just gets all fed up of the refs making bad calls and pointing them out on replay.

gruden does it too

"I dont agree with that call!"

i hope he can continue this and gain bradys trust more and more

A good example with Gruden was that Texans MNF game in 2012 when he went "these SEC linebackers, man" a few hundred times

Yes, of course don't give any credit to Wright who you call "a TE in name only" because you will always consider him to suck because the Mankins trade in your mind was a monumental failure. Stop with your stupid agendas.

Yes, giving Brady time in the pocket is a huge reason why Brady and Wright had a good night, but Wright gives Brady another legitimate receiving threat.

NOTE: I know Deus can't read my posts, but I post these responses for the people like me who are tired of his act.

"Can't" is inaccurate; one can always click through to a post even if one has somebody on Ignore.

The difference was the OL. Wright was a beneficiary, not a cause. Brady had a pocket he could step up in. He could throw without worrying about what was going on at his feet.

This is it in a nutshell. All the good things for the offense last night were a direct reslt of better OL play.

There was good and bad from yesterday like any game. But All yesterday proved was, give Brady time and he's still Brady.

If that is the case (give Brady enough time...) then how come Amendola is not a recipient of this? Duh. Yes, a wide receiver must get open. Wright got open many times. Did Amendola?

IMO - I think Wright is a perfect replacement for AHern. Patriots better keep this 2 TE scheme...

I think they will. Worked out great the other night and i think they see this now

You might want to consider removing your False Claim that you "called" our 16-0 Season from your Sig.

It comes off as kind of pathetic.

And it comes off as more than a little ingenuous ~ "full of crap", to you Earthlings. ;)

What you "called" was 19-0, same as I did, and same as I suspect many did.

And when you call 19-0 and we go 18-1, that is a Miss.

And 16-0...isn't worth "calling", to say the least.

There's no "Partial Credit" in FootBall, Bro.

Relax OP, you are also talking down on Mankins who went into NO yesterday and played great giving Glennon time to put up some numbers.

One week, lets give Wright some more time.

Mankins looked to be largely responsible for the safety. I'm sure he played well the rest of the game though.

I didn't like him as much his first few years, but he's gotten better in time.

Just a coincidence then that you've liked him more once our team started posting win after win.

Any announcer is more tolerable when your team wins a lot.

Bob Trumpy and Dan Dierdork aren't...just sayin'

When did Collinsworth say this? after Wrights TD? Wish i could find highlights of the game with the 2 of them on commentary live and not the dolts at ESPN or NFL network.

??? He's only been on since 2009, we've been winners during that entire time.

I have to admit that some of the whining here gets to be a little much. It reminds me of a guy I knew who would come into the soup kitchen where I volunteer and complain about a free meal.
